Hi Rob I’m using the MC works. Dazzler. 742LF. Paired with a shimano sustain 5000. Very light combination. I generally build my own but this is my favorite off the rack rod. It can handle any bass in our waters up 40 lbs so far. I have not caught any bigger on that rod yet.

In this situation I use the 2 1/2 oz 7 inch because it not that deep but when you are in deeper waters use the 5 1/2 8 inch if you know big bass are around or when it’s in fast moving waters. You basically need the weight to have enough feel of the lure. 7 inch is extremely versatile but when big fish is around the 8 inch Mac is the go to. Work the bottom and you’ll win. Good luck.
