Absolutely not matey RE the license part. if your at St Clements you'll be in a nice area to fish for the bass. bring a lure rod and some surface lures as well if its your sort of thing you will definitely pick a few up. I will try and endeavour to do a beach video from there before you arrive matey.

Nice video, I love your enthusiasm. Waist deep in the surf is an exciting and addictive place to be! I used to lure fish the north Cornwall storm beaches fairly regularly and found that a very specific set of conditions to be productive for the bigger bass. Fish an hour either side of low water. Still or gentle offshore wind, anything over .5m swell (.8 is perfect) and a long wave period, 12 seconds or more. More than 1.5m break way out so you need to look for the gullies and rips that cancel out some of the waves vigour(due care essential around the I rips). The long swell period usually means a powerful wave that has travelled a long way, these waves move a lot of sand as they stand up and impact on feeling the bottom (solid ocean swell waves break in 1.5x their height of water). The big bass patrol the clear water just outside this impact zone. Drop your lure 10/15 feet past this turbulence that is raising clouds of sand. Let it drop to the bottom then jerk it back to the surface. You should get 2 or 3 jerks in the clear water before the lure enters the turbulent zone where the smaller, more energetic fish are. If you can’t reach outside the breaking waves drop your lure into the lulls between the white water as sometimes the fish are attracted to the splash and the visibility increases as the sand settles. But they’re all bass and tenacious AF … lol When I was just wee little one , I fished with my father… it was fishing 101,…but as for using bait … was concerned, I was done with that crap real fast… after I found a shit load of various lures and every color and patterns imaginable… in my father’s tackle box….. I’ve never fished with bait ever since… I am now ‘63……. Strictly lures for me …. I think fly fishing is one of the purest forms of angling.. … which I also engage in whether it be fresh or saltwater…. Fishing with lures almost dictates your target species and those little bait stealers, crabs become irrelevant to your lure… … Swinging flies are my favorite method of fishing,.. either single handed or double handed fly rods …. also fresh or saltwater…. especially in the surf for Stripers.. There are many advantages swinging flies… your able to recast to the same spot several times faster than the time you reeling you lure to recast…and with a lot less effort …. Sorry for the dissertation …. Lol… I get carried away sometimes…🤗 Just trying to more people interested in swinging flies… 👍😎🤙

Sorry for the late reply mate! That sounds great you guys get some big stripers over in the states don’t you. I bet they got like crazy on fly gear. I hardly touch my fly rod I need to get out and use it more often I think. the first session after two years always seems like back to day one for me!

I like those mini links I started to use them on my Kayak sessions and found them easy to change the lures over as the snap lure clips were a pain in the backside with wet freezing cold hands. The ones I ordered seem strong but quite small .. I should try find a bigger size. A few of my hard lures have split rings on the nose so it was hard with the mini link to get it on the split ring hence the snap clips. Thanks for watching bud

Hey Alex thanks for the sun buddy. I may ring one or two with trebles to try the issue on our surf beaches is there can be a lot of weed sometimes. I was thinking of adding another single on a split ring at the front as an assist hook will have to see how that goes. Youl be fine with the 12-42g nebula for most of your fishing I’d say. I was using the 7-35g nebula as my “go to rod” a couple of years ago but at 35g it limits the use of a bigger soft lure which I like to use from time to time. Hi bud thanks for checking out the video. Yeah il like the Abu gloves they are perfect for lure fishing. i had found that whilst using them on the kayak they dont take kindly to being wet and spending a lot of time paddling as the seem to very slowly fall apart. im now using Diawa lure gloves which i find a lot better and longer lasting.

Hi matey For this video it was unlikely I was going to stumble across a lot of fish. There’s usually a few juvenile bass in the surf but as I’m fairly new to fishing lures in the surf I really just wanted to try and get a feel for it. It was pretty out of season at the time hence the lack of fish. Usually around September-November we can expect slightly better fishing. Best of luck for your next trip out. iv still got the ones that came with the lures bud ..only issue is there’s usually quite a bit of weed in the surf down there so thought I’d be best with singles. After that session I’ll definitely be taking a few with trebles for the next session. Thanks for watching bud

No, they are not designed specifically for trebles. The single hook catches just fine for me.

It's common for undersized fish to pull the hook, single or treble.

Hi mate I have used them from the rocks quite a lot and caught a few fish on them from the surf however I hav t had a single bass on them. I think that they will definitely work on the beach I have been fishing. I think it is more than likely when I have been fishing the beach the fish may not be there or feeding at the time. keep trying you will certainly catch with them.

Hi mate it’s not essential but it is handy to have a lure clip at the end of your line. it makes it easy for quick changes between lures etc and also as it gives the lure more movement and action in the water as the lure can move slightly once clipped as opposed to being tied on. but if it’s easier for you to tie straight to your mainline then go for it, it just means if you want to change lure you’ll have to cut the knot and retire another lure on to the mainline or leader. personally since using braid and a leader I always use a lure clip but back in the day when I used to just fish with mainline 14lbs mono I would just tie straight on the end. hope that helps. best of luck for you next session too.

I believe they come with two trebles and two singles mate. I can’t be 100% sure though.

@@tdheaton306 if I’m totally honest mate I think it was a Christmas gift. Considering the price you’ve stated their I’d say that is a bit steep. But if all you do is surf fishing or fishing out in the elements I’d say it’s probably about right. I only really wear it out lure fishing if it’s a bit wet or nippy but it’s very comfy matey.

Yes matey, they work pretty well. Fiiish minnow or JJ minnow are the ones I would use.

I haven’t used the weedless V2 sandeels that much but I do use the older savage gear sandeels on the older weedless jig heads that I believe may be dis continued but they worked very nicely so I think the V2 weedless will be good as well buddy

Ah yes they are the SG lure clips, I usually just use a standard lure clip rather the the egg snaps. Although the seekers don’t spin I thought it might be worth while due to the surf. Have you had issues with them before bud? Are you using a clip at all or just tying straight onto your lure. Many thanks for feedback and for watching

really? have you ever watched what happens to a seeker when you stop reeling it? or have you ever seen the packet it comes in? it advertised 360 rotation? infact ive not seen to many lures that rotate better than it, fishing it with no swivel is asking to visit line twist city

@@FISHISLANDTV mate keep your swivel on unless you want mega line twist, ive been fishing seekers for years for sea-trout and if you pause the retrieve at all they are designed to start rotating on the drop (as feature thats used to induce bites from trout using the spin stop method) keep on using the swivels mate

I always use a snap swivel to avoid line twist
