what was the write speed like when plugged in USB-c? for some reason, after a while, they tank in performance i have found that once in a while i have to do a FULL format (not a quick - but a full) and my one is 256 so it takes a good couple of hours. speed is then back to the 14-18mbps for a while, then suddenly kbps - repeat the full format.

I'm not sure if it is my file manager or my phones but the files get hidden and become replaced with shortcuts when I plug it to my phone.

Hey i think u shuld do a quick follow up vid on cooling options u culd do for gaming laptops. (or mention it in one of ur vids to inform ppl.) Like how going to power options (choose balanced) > change plan settings > advanced settings > processor power management > max processor state. Lower to 95%-90% wuld generally drop ur temps between 5-10c average. This worked better than undervolting my CPU. (apparently a few of my games were crashing at certain points when I followed ur instruction about the intel undervolt software. Tested on Crysis 1 and Remember Me) I never really noticed barely any temp drops with undervolting. but this method really worked. (only side effect is the ocassional stutter. like once every 10-20min. (I recommend never going below 90%.....ever. lol) Anyways with this method I stayed around 62c on Remember Me max settings and 68c on Crysis 1 max settings (game still has frame drops on a laptop like this lol (56fps lowest) and its the 64bit version)

Well I just transfered 63gb of files onto mine. Took about 1 and half hours. I kept it in front of a fan because I was scared it would over heat and get ruined but it actually held up for that amount of time which was pretty impressive considering. I found the speed was really inconsistent. It was decent until the last 15 or so GB where it took FOREVER. I have no clue why. Originally it was estimated to only take half an hour. D:

the write speed in this model is around 25MB, over 50MB are only for a few seconds

The write speed is around 40 MB/s with my drive. I'd say that transferring a 1gb file takes under a minute, 2GB file takes a bit under 2 minutes and so on. If you are working with larger files the speed will drop significantly as time progresses. I once transferred a 15GB file and at the end write speed was around 18 MB/s

The locking doesn't work as well as I would hope. But is drastically better then previous versions. It will go into a slot without much fuss.

I have Windows 7 lptop..every time i copy file to my sandisk ultra 64gb from lptop.. It's stuck..i really don't know why....when I try copy file from my friends laptop(windows 10)it work like a champ...

@@phenomenalwoman1 that's why I'm getting the Samsung DUO PLUS instead.. a tad faster speeds and good operating temperatures.. SanDisk is a good brand but considering that there are reviews of people burning themselves becuase of this drive's temperatures, I'm willing to go to another reputable brand.

I have the 256GB and the 64GB and the transfer speeds are shit. I only get between 18 and 20 MB/s....nowhere near USB 3.0 speeds.

Works with gopro video files on led TV so should work.

The lanyard holes he refers to are useless. They are so small it is next to impossible to feed a lanyard through them, especially since the space between the in and out holes is flat... you have to feed down then up... an impossible task I believe. I've tried and tried with no success. The holes are also far too small the get any kind of tweezers in them to try to guide/grab a thread. Absolutely horrible design on Sandisk's part. Other than that it is a very nice unit to have; desk top still has the usb 3 ports, laptop is now all usb C.

sushiyen, The SanDisk Dual Drive is compatible with the Samsung S8 phone. I tried it on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and it seriously works! 😎

Nope. The highest capacity for this is only 256GB.
