Almost all videos uploaded are recorded with the phone, moved to this same usb flash drive using the Sandisk Memory zone app. Then moved to the PC. Only time I had troubles was when using the Xiaomi MIUI file manager app and if the flash drive was moved by mistake, the file would be gone. I guess the app moves the file then deletes, if the move fails it proceeds to delete the source file. The memory zone app doesn't do that. Any disconnect is no big deal. Re-insert and continue. These are problems because of disconnection from moving the drive. Otherwise this is great! One thing to watch out for is write speed, if you must have fast write, this isn't for you, it has about 20-40 mb/e write. Read speed is much better 150-155 mb/s sustained without dropping even if it transfers 50-100GB of large video files. On small files it might be slower. For fast write, samsung has a duo or duo 2 or something similar but the design of that one with detachable usb-c adapters would mean, very hight chance to lose it or worry about losing it. My phone has slow usb transfer anyway so write speed doesn't matter to me but if I had a faster usb port on the phone, I would use the samsung flash drive. Hope this helps.

@@IONHowTo thank you for you answer, i was thinking of getting this one since sandisk are a trusted brand, but the write seems a bit slow and the slider seems like it would've been better placed on the larger surface like their other usb, thank you for saving me a potential regrettable purchase decision! and if you have any recommendation for a usb that serves the same purpose but with faster write speed it'd be appreciated since all the other ones i found either have bad reviews or don't have enough space, thanks again!!

@@ozzy3933 Try to look at Samsung Duo - Never tried it but was one option for me. If you must have speed, Sandisk extreme but it's type -a only or a portable ssd.

@@ozzy3933 it's why I also didn't get that even if speed should be better. On the Sandisk, read speed is fast but usually write speed is pretty slow on the ultra flash drives. Could try some small loop on the samsung for the adapter. Those thin black keychain ties - might come included.

Go is smaller, other is more sturdy. it depends what you prefer. Go can be made of metal too. I would say metal go is the best. unless you find the other cheaper.

If you have important files on it that are not anywhere else, stop using it asap and talk to a data recovery service shop nearby.

Hi. Does this connect to a projector. I've tried but the drive is not detected in the projection. I've tried formatting in different methods as well and it still not detected on the projector. (The projector is not the issue as I've tried with different usb drives and two worked well and were detected but with the SanDisk one, is still not detected). Kindly help if you can Thanks

If the projector supports usb drives, check your projector manual or specs and look for what file system to format to. My first try would be to check the major Windows supported file systems first. NTFS, FAT32, ExFat

Hi. How hot can it get? especially when you want to transfer a very large file (70GB)? Many reviews on the internet complained about its burning hot temperature when under heavy using, while some also say that it only gets warm. I've transferred 50+ Gb on it but the write speed is not very fast. It can reach 150MB/s for read. At any time I don't remember thinking wow this it getting too hot. It's warming up but nothing to worry about. This is on a desktop pc and Android phone. I'm thinking those who say it overheats probably use it on a laptop next to the cooling fan air exhaust or have a bad unit. Use it with their memory zone app on the phone and it's super easy.

@Dragos Ion I have a 64gb Sandisk 3.2 gen1 Dual USB. I formatted it and now when i plug it to my phone, it says the "drive can't be read". So now i can't open the pendrive in my phone. Even the sandisk memory zone app won't recognize the devise. How do I make it work? Please tell me.

It depends on the usb speed of the phone and you would want a faster write speed - extreme line. Not sure if you can actually install an app on the usb at all unless it's side-loaded maybe.

@@franky6193 this will be pretty slow for games. I guess it really depends on the game's disk speed requirements. Read speed is fast. If the game doesn't write much, it will work fine like any HDD. 150MB/S

You can play media same as if it was on your phone. Access files and all. Some apps might need to be directed to use the usb storage too I guess. On MIUI 12, it works automatically all media on usb storage shows in gallery after plugging the drive in.

We use it to transfer files from the phones every week. So far, never lost a file using the Sandisk memory zone app even if the usb discoonects while transferring files. Had files lost when using the Xiaomi file manager app but not because of the drive. The Xiaomi file manager will corrupt files if the usb is disconnected while transferring. Use the sandisk free memory zone app on it.

On MiUI there's an eject option in the notifications (pull down menu from top) while the USB is plugged in. Maybe you have the same on Samsung.

Gb of drive will not be the same as available space after formatting. It's the same with any drive. As long as it's a real unit and showing real size after formatting it's fine. Some fakes might show 200+gb but when you try to use all that space data is lost.

It can get hot during writes but not so hot that you can't keep a finger on it Sounds like it's defective.

Try formatting the usb to fat32 or exfat. Formatting deletes all files on the usb.

@@amansahni7 for me i have to choose what app to open with - video player. There is also the chance that the usb drive is corrupted or was disconnected while files were being copied and files are damaged. Try to open the video file on a pc - laptop. If files are ok, you could try vlc if the default camera/video player doesn't work.

Xiaomi phone are usb 2.0 even ultra models. It's a useful drive. If you must have the fastest, there are the extreme versions but not with dual USB-A and USB-C. You can format it to anything you like. It depends what you use it on. Exfat and ntfs are the best for Windows.
