Thank you for the Strictly sock pattern, still on the rib section but looking forward to those chevrons. And the lovely Kelly and her dreamy yarns - what a treat!

Thanks so much lovely! Ahh yes, I remember that stage... and from such acorns, beautiful oak trees grow. Or blankets in our case! 😂

Wow on the Battenberg Blanket blanket! I can't see myself making a thousand pieces but it is so beautiful. I'm a simple kind of gal and would go with a simple cream border, maybe with some flecks in it. I'm a sucker for granny blankets so I'm totally loving the others too
@CherryHeart5 жыл бұрын
Rose M Neu thank you!! Ha ha, don’t blame you. If you’d told me I’d be making a 1000 square blanket I think I would have be slightly startled to say the least! 😂❤️
@bexcrowell43735 жыл бұрын
Well, the border needs to be "marzepan" of course! Like the cake! Maybe in yellow like the stitch marker! or yellow & pink.
@CherryHeart5 жыл бұрын
Ha ha, that's brilliant! Of course! Although I'm not sure I'll go with the yellow, it definitely re-confirms the 'simple is best' plan for this blanket I think. :D S x

Love the blankets and the shawl! You could try a simple moss stitch border. Beautiful new yarns too!

Came here from Little Drops of Wonderful! Ali is the best. I'm from the US, so I haven't been involved in Strictly before. So I'm wondering about what to do. I've only knit 1.5 pairs of socks so far total (I know, pathetic, a newby knitter here), so they are still pretty intimidating for me. I'm better at crochet, so I may try some of those. Anyway, loving your Battenburg Blanket, and the little charm that is a slice of a Battenburg Cake. Why not put about a 1" or so border around it in yellow to mimic the cake icing? It wouldn't be too fussy, and would finish off the Battenburg Cake idea quite nicely. Maybe not too bright a yellow, just a creamy yellow icing color.
@karleenpage59795 жыл бұрын
You may not believe this, but I had stopped watching the podcast to make the comment above BEFORE you started showing all that lovely yellow yarn! Amazing!! I'm not usually a fan of pastels, but they were all so pretty!
@CherryHeart5 жыл бұрын
Ha ha, I seem to be majorly into them at the moment. As you may well have noticed! ;) That's so much for coming over to me for Ali's, I love her podcast too. She's awesome! Yes I'm thinking something simple for the Battenberg border too and you are so right, the cake border is simple so it would fit perfectly!! :)

Hi Sandra 🙂 I've been hopping about through quite a few if your videos, enjoying them all!! i am inspired to make many things, and have just purchased the Linden Bee pattern, yay! Will get started asap( just a couple of WIPs needing finishing for Christmas) ; i do love how versatile this pattern is, results will differ with type of yarn and colour ways. One question on that *amazing* Battenberg blanket ... Heaven forbid it should ever get grubby enough to need washing, but how would you wash that?? Greetings from Tassie, Lin🙂
@CherryHeart3 жыл бұрын
Aww thank you!! Yes I do live a little in fear of having to give it a full wash. Mostly I’m just really careful in how I use it. It mostly sits on my bed, and only over the duvet, that way I can mostly just sit it out. It did get one dirty mark in so I hand washed it then, but only that part. Just warm water and some wool and silk detergent. Worked like a charm thank fully! I was worried a colour would run but it was ok, this time at least!! ❤️

Thank you for your reply Sandra! Ah yes, spot cleaning would be the way to go. It's in a good ,safe location too.... Having said that, we have two cats who love blankets on beds. The fur!😲😅

Hi!!! I'm wondering if you ever crochet socks? I've tried to teach myself to knit and can't seem to get it. 😱 So I'm going to try crocheting some. Love the black Forrest yarn❤️❤️❤️.
@CherryHeart5 жыл бұрын
Hi! No, I haven't really. Well I did crochet a few pairs of my Twinkle toe socks, but they are kind of slouchy bed sock style so not quite the same as a 'proper' sock if you know what I mean. I'm afraid I tend to stick to the knitting when it comes to socks, sorry! S x

Just wanted to know if you have done a pattern for the crochet skirt x 🙂

No, I never did sort that out... I must admit I'd forgotten all about it to be honest! Must get that out again, I haven't worn it for quite some time either.
