it's a terribly gimmicky thing to be putting out at a time like this. a few google searches will reveal it kills nothing.

@@faithnelson2013 UVC does have benefits for destroying many micro organisms if exposed correctly. The amount of effectiveness is directly related to the exposure time and intensity. Used properly it can be effective against many microorganisms. The organisms must be exposed directly and for a period of time, much longer than passing a vacuum over it. However, there are a lot of charlatans touting UVC as the be-all end all for sanitizing things but unless they are exposed for a long time and directly(line of sight) it does nothing. I don't have this vacuum to check out but I agree that in this form, the use seems gimmicky. The UVC is not being exposed long enough to intended targets. It also is exposing the user to harmful UVC radiation. Kitten Lady should really be wearing glasses with 265nm filters or she's going to get 'arc eyes'. Like I said above the UVC will attack a lot of plastics and other polymers used to make furniture coverings. You could easily 'melt' your couch or carpet with UVC, but I suspect this tube is a small 7W and wont do much of anything other than injure you or your pets eyes. Personally I find my V7 Dyson works great and fits into areas much easier than this one would.

@@FixitFrank a fairly quick google search told me this couldn't possibly work to sanitize anything in the way it's being applied. at this moment in time, i find this type of pseudo-science, particularly aggravating. i have no trouble with any youtuber boosting their income by recommending a product mind you, but it must work.....i'm rather disappointed here.

@CARLIN BRICK Definitely, every foster kitten I've had has had fleas and worms, it's just super common. Just have to give them flea baths with blue dawn soap (I only do when they are at least 5 weeks, otherwise flea comb and spot bathe, not a full bath). Then the vet deworms them. It's super important to stay on top of fleas!!! Make sure the kittens are kept in ONE spot, like a bathroom, so when the flea eggs drop on the ground you can vacuum and mop one area and it doesn't spread, and don't let them interact with other animals until they are flea/worm and disease free. Fostering is truly amazing though, and Kitten Lady has all the info in her videos and website to help people out

@CARLIN BRICK people who foster are usually aware of this. some people are willing to put up with this to save tiny lives! you don't have to, but don't try to discourage others. informing them is good, but don't drag them down. i'm going to foster soon, and i have a separate room for the kittens to keep their germs and fur in that room, away from the rest of my house.

@CARLIN BRICK i'm not saying it makes you a terrible person not to foster! i wasn't judging you at all, just informing you. people who are serious about fostering know this already. it's good to keep people informed of the cons of taking care of kittens, but it's not very kind to keep blasting on them after they've said they realize this and still want to do it.

Some cat beds are part of cat trees and have a completely hard bottom. Unsuitible for upright washers with agitators. So a vacuum like this would be super helpful since regular vacuums are only okay at getting the fur. My cat's bed is super high and a pain to unscrew, so I just get on a stool and have my husband hold the vacuum up for me while I clean. It's 6ft in the air.

the lint remover that looks like the soft side of velcro works best. much more effective than tape rollers and easier to use.....the light on that gizmo is not effective either, for killing dust mites or anything....just another gimmick.

if you can afford it, Dyson V7. I thought it was snake oil. It is not. It is worth every penny. Love it.

@@FixitFrank my brother swears by his dyson too. i bought a miele because i've a small space. it also has hepa filters........it was expensive though. the other drawback are the bags, as they're quite expensive....still, i do love this little thing.

Good for not giving up after 1 kitten died unfortunately a lot of fosters give up after 1 fatality. If that was your first foster have you thought about fostering 2+week old kittens so you get used to it and to limit the heart break

@@Olivia-wr5op I was initially planning on starting with some older kittens, or kittens with a mom, but I didn't exactly get to control the situation. She needed help and I knew how so I took her in. If I get the choice though, I'd definitely like to foster some kittens that are less likely to break my heart.
