Mike Davis is a well-known Santa Fe modeler in Maryland, working on an HO layout depicting the climb up Cahon Pass from LA in 1950. Here he gives a tour and progress report on his layout, with awe-inspiring examples of buildings, bridges, rolling stock and scenery. He ends the presentation with many tips and lessons learned regarding building benchwork, roadbed, wiring, scenery, backdrops and operations on this ambitious project. The Zoom audience, mainly from the Seattle region, some of whom are also Santa Fe modelers, engages him in some illuminating Q&A at the end.
Mike prepared this presentation for the ongoing series of Zoom layout tours hosted every second Saturday of the month from 10 to 11:30 Pacific Time by members of the fourth division of the Pacific Northwest Region (4dPNR.com) of the National Model Railroad Association (nmra.org).
