Im 19 and Cuban on my dads side. Im a witch and my family told me that my dads family practices Santeria. Because Santeria is mostly passed down by family, i really want to learn about it and my history. Im probably the only witch in my family here, my moms family is very christian and they dont approve. I always felt called towards the paranormal and mysterious, i think its because i have the blood in me. I want to carry this belief through my family and keep it alive in my culture.

@@Tom-lc9ni my two cents Tom. Learn what you wish. Theres, Santeria, Palo Mayombe, Haitian vodou, Dominican 21 Divisions, Puerto Rican Sanse, Jamaican Obeah, Venezuelan Maria Lionza, etc... But before all of this stuff, your ancestors(Egun)/Espiritismo COME FIRST. Elevate yourself in THIS, connecting with your spirit guides (muertos), and elevating THOSE spirits before diving into initiation into any other tradition. Egun and Espiritismo is something your born with. No initiations. (Although there ARE ceremonies within these) but on the whole you can and should honor your muertos before any orisha/mpungo/misterio etc... But im a guy that loves knowledge too so yeah man learn what you can about santeria(la regla de ocha) if you feel drawn to it, just remember your egun come first. And some people have muertos who were Wiccan witches, vikings, Hindus, Orientals. Catholic priestsand nuns, sages, all walks of life, so don't knock the traditions of old eauropean or otherwise 😉😇 Ache pa ti. And love from New Jersey, 🇺🇸 you Aussie from down under 🇦🇺 😇

@@Tom-lc9ni I think ypur on a dope mission. I'll disagree with you on one point you made. That you cannot fully immerse yourself in a belief that is foreign to your own. Santeria if for EVERYONE no matter background or race or orientation 😉 there are whites, Indian Hindus, Asian Buddhist etc...initiated into these African traditions. I just dont want you to think that just cuz of your Australian background, that Orisha isn't for you. Follow YOUR spiritual path, regardless of your background 😉😇

You seen the searches and restrictive content selection. Give us the content then this would be a good TV series. You cannot stop the flow of curiosity might as well feed the thirst for knowledge. Please dont ruin the internet. One of the scary things about the internet but Beautiful as well was place we could learn about anything we wanted as Kids. I mean I remember going over to one of my friends house in grade 7 He tried to scare by playing a video of a bunch of murders guy getting beheaded, woman shot in the head. Wild stuff for a teenager but that's is how I was able to have a video of Me lip singing to this Vietnamese R&B song circulated around my social circle it was nice to be noticed. Just like Life there is Good and Evil. I think it's safe to say we've all been exposed to Star Wars our universe is full of beautiful creations....

I do believe there are those in the world who are possessed by a demon spirit. Quite often folks fail to see them clearly enough to stay away from them.. as is the case here. They offer you their knowledge and the path it will take you is straight to Hell.

Its called ifa. Santeria was a deregotary name for it by slave owners. Its a yoruban religion. It's voodoo. I have been initiated into the religion i had my ellegua and Ogun and my ori is oshun. The most powerful ones are the women orishas. This is very powerful and very real but I've turned to god but i am always thankful to the ifa saints. It's very interesting because each saint also represents its equal counterparts are Catholics saints. Ive seen some shit I've had the spirit mount me before and it was incredibly insane.

A few years back I went into a botánica by my school I went inside out of curiosity saw that they charged 25$ for a reading I was like why not at the time I did not know the “guy” who was going to do the reading was a santero because he was using numbers to try and do me a reading at the end he said I can’t do the reading I was shooked he never took my money either so would anyone know why a santero would refuse to do a reading to someone I remember him saying the numbers were not adding up and he couldn’t do it.?

The only time a santero refuses to do a reading of any personal conflict. Or if they are having a spiritual conflict within. As a santero I’ve never been refused but I’ve been suggested to go outside of others Santeros I knew because of conflicts.
