Santorini is a re-imagining of the purely abstract 2004 edition. Since its original inception over 30 years ago, Santorini has been continually developed, enhanced and refined by designer Gordon Hamilton.
Santorini is an accessible strategy game, simple enough for an elementary school classroom while aiming to provide gameplay depth and content for hardcore gamers to explore, The rules are simple. Each turn consists of 2 steps:
1. Move - move one of your builders into a neighboring space. You may move your Builder Pawn on the same level, step-up one level, or step down any number of levels.
2. Build - Then construct a building level adjacent to the builder you moved. When building on top of the third level, place a dome instead, removing that space from play.
Winning the game - If either of your builders reaches the third level, you win.
Variable player powers - Santorini features variable player powers layered over an otherwise abstract game, with 40 thematic god and hero powers that fundamentally change the way the game is played.

Thank you both. That was a very special video to watch ;-) In the new version of Santorini, we will immediately start people off playing two gods. Too many people never got into the god powers. That was sad because that is where the game really shines. I subscribed - both because of what you said about Santorini and because you have Dune Imperium (possibly the best game ever created) in your backdrop ;-)

Wow what an honour ! So pleased you've found the video and enjoyed it. We have since played with the Gods and its now one of our go to two player filler games! We are also fans of Dune Imperium, have you tried Uprising as we aren't sure If we need both?

Yes, it is a great opportunity to go back to a game and give it a second chance, and for such a bargain price, the experiment was worth the cost of admission!

Great video. What a fun idea! And £4 for Santorini is a steal! My charity shop score was a mint in box,never played, Hamsterrölle for $5CAD! We love it so much, I'd have been happy to pay full price, but I didn't have to! I may have to unsub because of the Onitama shade though... 😂

Wow that is a bargain. Know what you mean , sometimes you almost feel guilty for finding a great game so cheaply you wish you'd paid more! Theresxanother video on our channel that shows many of our other charity shop finds if you're interested

@@BoxedMeeples Quoridor, my favourite abstract game. Fugitive, by Tim Fowers, is the story of the Mastermind from Burgle Bros escaping the Detective. Terrors of London is an incredible two player deck builder with a really neat adjacency mechanic that I never see anyone talk about, but I love. Bonus points for having easy to include expansions that are basically just more cards.

Absolutely love the look of Fugitive! Always attracted to that style of art. Nearly backed Caper Europe on kickstarter - still a bit of a regret not doing that

£4 is a bargain! I just dipped into the new deluxe kickstarter, having never played .. so not sure that was the wisest idea but I really like the look of the gameplay.

Yes quite a find! Sometimes when staff see a cartoony box they think it's a children's toy so price much cheaper than other board games We have a video on Charity Shop Hunting if you're interested

Have you tried Onitama or Radlands? They are fun dueling two player games

After enjoying Santorini mayhe I should give Onitama another go, but my previous experience was so bad it would have a lot of work to do to change my opinion 😅 Redlands has been on our radar for a while now, Libby very nearly came back from Essen with it .
