Oh my goodness, Phil Cunningham doesn't seem to write any bad tunes, only good ones like this that give the heartstrings an almighty tug and bring a tear to a glass eye. I've known Phil since his wild days in the band Silly Wizard. I've known Aly Bain even longer, since the late 1960s, when he migrated down as a callow 17 year old youth to the Scottish mainland from Shetland and was playing with a fantastic blues artiste called Mike Whellans. What makes Phil and Aly such a perfect fit as a duo? Just pin back your lugholes and listen and you have your answer.

Thank you for adding this. The joke portion leading up to this is hilarious! I’ve never heard a more beautiful melody. The ritardandos, the silence of the crowd, the appreciation from Garrison Keillor… it takes my breath away every time I hear this version. Absolute perfection.
