Zijo is awesome. I love how he still holds the pride and excitement of the Olympics and his city alive to share with tourists, and now, us lucky viewers. 9:40

I wanna start off by saying that I love your work! Been following you since the Giantbomb days, and this is awesome. I'm originally from Bosnia myself, but I've lived in Norway all my life, due to the war. I was super hyped when I heard you were making an episode about this, and you didn't dissapoint! Keep up the good work man!

I ended up here because I use the "blinking white guy" gif more than any other gif and while procrastinating I decided to google what it was from, which led me to Buzzfeed video about Drew, which led me to here. I am so glad that it did. That was really well done and now I am subscribed. Looking forward to learning more. :)

Amazing work, Drew! I've been lucky enough to work with a very multi-cultural and diverse team for the last two years of my career. One of my coworkers is Persian and he once told me a story about his first memory being of taking his grandma to the basement while a bombing siren went off, and how proud he felt of himself. Hearing the stories of Damir, Zijo, and Joe remind me of that conversation, and the stark contrast between the life I've lived and the ongoing lives and history of those from all around the world and their upbringing. I'll never understand ignorant people who talk down on those from around the globe, because I've found myself learning more in a single conversation with some of my coworkers than I've learned in all of my years of life.

I loved watching this. I was deployed to Bosnia 2002-03 and I miss it everyday. Beautiful country, and people. Loved talking with the interpreters and hearing about life before and during the war. I really want to go back to visit some day... Thank you for the video!

Once again, thank you Drew. It's so surreal for me to see you tell this story of my people and homeland, after watching you on GiantBomb for so many years. I can't think of a more genuine soul to shepherd these peoples stories to the world. I am SO excited to see the rest of the series! Stay strong brother, I'll see you at the next one!

Amazing. I love that you picked Bosnia. Can't wait for more. On a side note, my sister used to tell me about recording games from the radio, it was a bit before my time. And collectible shell game, that's fascinatingly dark. Greetings from Slovenia 💛

Drew, it's amazing what you're doing with cloth map. I was sad to see you leave Giant Bomb, but you've found a way to give more meaning to games and bring people from all over the world a little closer. You're someone worth looking up to.

Even when they're about depressing subjects like the Chernobyl disaster or the Sarajevo siege, your videos still manage to be uplifting. Thank you so much for that, Drew and crew.

Thank you for this, Drew. Here you are perfectly navigating a massive tragedy for multiple countries and millions of people. We need to remember the good times, and we need to learn from the horrible times as well.

Crazy. 2 Weeks after my stay in sarajevo you upload this video... Thank you so much for that! We saw the bobsled track and hiked down the way to the city, visiting some abandoned buildings on the way. Later we visited the Bobsled track again with the car for a photo shooting. When we drove up to the Track we saw the ruins of the Hotel at 6:30 in the Video, we did not know the story behind it, otherwise we would have checked it out... Sarajevo is an awesome city with awesome history, food, people and bars and It was surely not my last visit!

This is super awesome! My grandma is Croatian and my grandpa is Serbian. By all accounts, its an odd pairing, at least historically speaking. Both of them immigrated to the United States before or during WW2 on account of German involvement in the Balkans. They met in Detroit and have been married ever since. I have studied Yugoslavia in the past in college, and I'm my family's history gives me extra interest in this topic. This series is super exciting to me. I look forward to seeing more.

The Fall of Yugoslavia was tragic, Croats, Serbs, Bosnians, everyone, they were all brothers... and it may not seem like it now but we still are! Maybe one day Yugoslavia will be again, one day.
