When I was younger, I had to watch my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. So there I am, sitting in the waiting room of a hair salon with my niece, and who walks in but Ralphthemoviemaker. I was nervous as shit, and just kept looking at him while he read a magazine and waited, but I was too scared to say anything to him. Pretty soon, though, my niece started crying, and I tried to calm her down because I didn’t want to bother Ralph, but she wouldn’t stop. Pretty soon, he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair, and he asked what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So Ralph put down his magazine, picked up my niece, and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.

I saw Ralph at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Mars Bars in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.

It's so weird Buster Scruggs was classified as "adapted". I know the Tom Waits segment was adapted from a short story, and it was definitely a highlight of the film, although the Cohen's still wrote a features worth of original material. That's like classifying a film as adapted for featuring a production of an existing play.

Alex and Adum couldn't be more wrong about Spotlight. Spotlight was an excellent journalism movie. It’s hilarious that they call Green Book a “dad movie.” That’s so true. I got into an argument with my dad about how mediocre it was - he thought it was a great movie with a profound message about coming to respect the humanity of another. I argued that that’s not profound at all, but about the most unchallenging, surface-level reading of the Jim Crow era/racism in America that’s borderline patronizing to modern audiences to expect them to be moved by it.

To the boomers, this is some radical feel-good shit. I honestly doubt the majority of voters even watch all the animated nonimees. I think they just go straight for the Pixar film unless they've heard something bad or heard more about something else. I'm pretty sure the only reason Spiderverse won was the combo of the animation technique and Miles' race (I don't think the animation would have been enough on it's own), as cynical and insulting to the actual quality of the movie as that is.

k, so we're talking American politics. Ralph, people advocate for socialized health care because there are so many people like myself who cant afford quality healthcare like you can, and we deserve to live as much as you, regardless of how much money we have. In this country people with diabetes try to crowd source for insulin, don't get the money and die. That needs to change. Just had to get that out there. thanks for reading angry 12 yr old RTMM fans.

I saw Ralph in a grocery store in Culver City yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn't want to be a jerk and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, "Oh, like you're doing now?" I was taken aback, and all I could say was "Huh?" but he kept cutting me off and going "huh? huh? huh?" and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like "Sir, you need to pay for those first." At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually "to prevent any electrical infetterence," and then turned around and winked at me. I don't even think that's a word. After she scanned each bar put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

The Netflix Witcher series is based off of the books that came well before the games (which are a continuation of the original series rather than an adaptation) Plenty of books are adapted well, so TW series has the potential to be good Having said that, the interactivity of games plays a big part in your experience with their story/worlds. I believe a movie/TV adaptation of a game can work but not all games can be directly adapted to film (any RPG with choice and consequence for example) Even with the Naughty Dog games, which could be edited into a film, wouldn't be as impactful as their game counterpart because of the interactivity allowing for a greater emotional investment in the characters (as you "are them" and experience their struggles with them). I genuinely don't think I'd love Joel and Ellie as much as I do if The Last of Us was a film instead of a game.

I'm pretty excited for you guys to talk about Climax, it's legit become one of my favourite films recently. I've only seen Irréversible from Gaspar Noé and that was impressively sickening, disturbing and shocking to the point where I probably can never ever watch it again. Climax I am however intrigued to watch multiple times, it flows so seamlessly and visually and audibly flaws me, plus it's one of the few films that does a damn good job of making me feel anxious throughout the whole runtime.

Adum is wrong and Ralph is right about the oscars. For a very long time Hollywood WAS CINEMA. Yes every now and then there was a decent film from another country, but early in cinema hollywood was IT. That's why foreign was added later. You can absolutely make an argument that the foreign category shouldn't even exist NOW and that cinema is fully matured worldwide, I would agree. I'd say American films would only win 25-40% of the time now....but the current system is just a hold over for a system that made sense at the time. Cinema was fully realized in the Hollywood first.
