I think his fate will be determinant. I think he might be made Tranquil in some way in one of the endings. Which would be a fate worse than death for a dreamer like Solas.

I usually play as a male human mage or male elf mage so Solas was always my bestfriend in the game so it was wild when he turned out to be the dread wolf 😭

I don't want his greatest fear to come true😞. I would be so mad at Bioware if we cannot help Solas.

One thing I know for certain is that no one is capable of outright defeating Solas. He will be the architect of his own demise and if history teaches us anything, it's that he will make a mistake eventually, and it'll probably be a big one. That's kinda his thing.

I'm really into the idea of Solas dying but his spirit going on in the way that Mythal's did: by becoming "an abomination" like Flemeth...with Lavellan as the "host" in this case. Mostly because it achieves the sort of tragic outcome I foreseen for Solas, but also keeps Solas and Lavellan together, so to speak 🥲

Your theory ignores something very important. He must face the Evanuris and the source of the blight, as well as the blight. He would also want to find a way to protect the people from them. He also tells you in Inquisition that there is no way to outwit the blight. I find it really difficult believe Solas would intentionally infect himself with the blight. I am sure what he will want to do is get another foci.

I kind of want Solas to succeed. After everything he’s seen and how far the elves fell. Plus, I romanced him in inquisition and I’m still attached to him.

I am late to the party but the Hero of Ferelden was searching for a cure. And this would be the perfect chance to finaly bring this character back and to conclude their story line as well. I wonder if the whole sage will find a closure with the DA4.

I love how Solas has become such anti-villain. Its a fun narrative flip that we can all see that he is almost justified in his plan considering how far the Elves have fallen. Plus going Tevinter will only highlight even more the injustice of what has been happening, Absolution is only scratching the surface of what Tevinter is like. As for Solas dying/sacrificing himself, I would like to think theres a world state where we can save him in the end if we romanced him in DAI or something else at least. It will be interesting to see where things lead to after DAI.

The oldest livng being that we know of. Killing him in one game would be an enormous mistake. We need to stop him tearing down the veil in a tsunami of magical energy for sure. But he is one of the first Elves. Before Arthalan, before the Chant, before Dwarves knew themselves. There must be another way.

One thing I do think though, is that Solas will die regardless of our intentions. Basically, I believe that he will be the last boss of the game, and, if we fail to convince him to redeem, he will be defeated in battle, but still be able to destroy the Veil. As he is readying his plan for the Evanuris, however, Mythal will return and kill him, as she wants the Evanuris free so she can finally take revenge. "A reckoning that will sahe the very heavens!" If we manage to redeem him, he could give up his plans, but then Mythal shows up, kills him, finishes his ritual, destroys the veil, and basically the same thing ensues xD Feels like a good one-fits-all ending where Bioware won't have many issues creating Dragon Age 5! Oh, and like that, the DA5 protagonist could have Fen'Harel's soul just like Flemeth/Mythal! Imagine Solas appearing in our minds just like Johhny Silver Hand in Cyberpunk 2077 xp

You know I never thought of it. But I honestly think there will be a double blight. And I bet there’s gonna be two arch demons that you’re gonna have to kill. On top of the conflict with Solas. Great video. Idk about Solas using the blight. He has outright condemned it, even just using it once. Also the theory that the blight is the dark power that the Evanuris were going to destroy the world with. But he could sacrifice himself, but the blight might taint his new world

So ppl hate solas because he might destroy human society tearing down the veil. In my opinion humans conquered and enslaved the elves on several occasions. They live a life of servitude and everything in the thedus belonged to the elves, humans stole it by force. So they have no plausible justifications that cause me to have empathy for them. Solas on other hand has fought for the elves on multiple occasions. I guess ppl call him an "egghead" as an insult because he's very intelligent, even when he disagrees with ppl he tries to understand their point of view. I happened to greatly like his personality,sometimes sacrifices are a necessity for the greater good. Even in the ending scenes he wants the inquisitor to prove him wrong. I wish (though it won't be possible most likely) to reason with solas to ensure fair treatment and humans to be accepting of elvan culture and way of life. I don't see him as too far gone to compromise, and the player help end the evanuris once and for all.

I would like the idea of not just a Blight with one Archdemon but two, it'd make the choice of whether to conscript the Wardens or exile them in Inquisition hold much more impact, like they could be desperate for recruits whether they're are exiled or conscripted but if exiled have a harder time getting recruits making the Wardens a little ineffective, I also notice everytime you do conscript the Wardens Solas does disagree with it, so if exiled maybe he wants them out of the way so he doesn't have them to compete with if he unleashes a double Blight

I loved the video (also big sad, because well Solavellan enthusiast here!) and I firmly believe that even if the blight theory won't come true, Solas will die in Dreadwolf. And more painfully, he will probably die no matter if we chose to stop him or redeem him at the end of Inquisition. I'm not saying he can't be redeemed, I just think it won't prevent his demise (I think he will defenitely sacrifice himself... ). Excited to see what's to come!

I felt so betrayed by Solas on my mage build. I was a human but we shared so much traveled and appreciated the fade together. Truly my brother in all but blood and I understand his motives but I will not hesitate to kill him to save my world.

Well, in my opinion, it will probably end with a few options that will be decided by the player's decision in the game, as in every part, there will definitely be an option that will lead to the death of Solas as the main villain seen so far, although it is also possible that someone else will appear thanks to Solas' attempt to bring back the times of elves. There is also the possibility that we will save Solas, but it will not be free, in the end we may face a decision like in Dragon Age Inquisition where you have to leave someone in the fade in order to escape, or maybe we will manage to stop Solas but we will not stop the apocalypse, we will have to figure out how to mitigate it as much as possible which I think it's a great place where the Inquisition can reappear and help put things in order again somehow.

God I hope so, He's up there with Anders and Vivienne as the most insufferable Dragon age companions

Hello, just a slight correction regarding the story with Moses and the rock. The Lord commanded Moses to speak to the rock, not hit it. Num 20:8 KJV "Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and *speak* ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink." Moses in anger stuck the rock twice claiming "hear now ye rebels; must now *we* fetch you water out of this rock?". Not only did Moses strike the rock, as opposed to speaking to it, he exclaimed a somewhat vain declaration, that Aaron and himself are bringing them water, as opposed to the Lord. I can tell you what I wish to have happen, which is the choice being ours to kill Solas or not, but the way BioWare is worshiping the character now, I'd say BioWare will make him live on regardless of our choices and in fact make him out to be the main character of the franchise. So I don't have much hope for DA4... oh, I mean DREADWOLF. He's even in the title. -_-

Late entry. Interesting comparison between the Bible and DA. Apart from the Chantry obviously referencing the Catholic church, I didn't really see the relationship. There were some misunderstandings in your references, though. To clarify, the Israelites remained in the desert for more than just disobedience. They weren't soldiers; they had to learn to defend themselves. Not much different to the Inquisition starting at Haven and ending at Skyhold, or character skills from start to finish. Yep, they were punished for disobedience; but these weren't small, stupid, acts of defiance. And Moses wasn't angry at God. He was angry at the people for constantly complaining over stupid things, and because nothing was ever good enough for them. After 40 years, that would wreck nearly anyone's patience. I wouldn't normally correct this kind of thing. It's a video game. But it's an important distinction. Moses didn't sacrifice himself. He lost his cool at a very important moment. He was given specific instructions for a laundry list of key reasons. It was the worst time to lose his cool. But there had to be consequences, because no one is above the Law. Moses knew this. He delivered that Law to these people. Not being held accountable would have been a double standard. So, if this relationship is carried to DA4 I doubt Solas will sacrifice himself. More likely, he'll be weak in an area he is normally strong, and it will be his demise. It happens to the best and worst of us. But it's the realism of this franchise -- in the sense of human nature and choice and consequences, that made me love it in the first place. Thanks for the info and upload. 😊

I asked if I could go with him, to help him along with his other agents. He told me no, that he didn't want me to have to go through that. He would take literally anyone else's help, but not his romantic interest (if you were) the Inquisitor?! 😫 So he cared enough to make sure that the Inquisitor doesn't die, but not enough to take you with him to take down the veil and restore the elves. I felt kind of conflicted at that point, he loves you and what the both of you had was real, and he wants to restore the elves of which we are if we romance him, but he also didn't want to accept the Inquisitor's help even though we would have probably been a really good option at the time. The Inquisitor had power and resources things that Solas could have still used but he decided again to leave the Inquisitor at the altar. 🥲 If Solas is worried about corrupting the elven homeland after leading the elves there, and staying back alone... Then I for one will stay behind with him. 😔💕

This is Dragon Age, so they MUST allow us to choose his fate. Either spare him, kill him.... Or make him Tranquil just to REALLY hammer it home that the player hates him and what he's done.

my thoughts is that there will always be options of what to do as he is the main character after all or second main character including us im more or less hoping that i can have solas back with my inquisitor (romanced) . i have sympathy for him as well simply wanting his old life back and his people i do hope we get to convince him to stop and maybe see our inquisitor come take him back as for an option. i also have a couple theories on whom might be in dread wolf its set in Tevinter Imperium where Dorian is and bull i think if you let bull and Dorian romance each other i do also think varric will be there to, to try take back chuckles to the inquisitor im certain we will get some old and new companions such as zevran ( maybe ) but i also hope we get to see Morrigan there to as i love her :D also made her drink from the well so she could be with solas as well but in my terms i will always save solas and only kill to see that ending option my self if there is such an option. i also think for an option there will be an option for the inquisitor and solas to stay in the fade maybe if someone has to stay as a romanced option

Is Solas his own agent, or is he the agent of someone else? Freedom fighter for the elves or user of the elves? Facts: 1) he gave Corypheus the orb; 2) he is in league with Mythal. Why would both Corypheus and Mythal work for him? Why would Mythal work for him if she knew he gave Corypheus the orb? Was Mythal working for Solas the whole time. Were they working together to aid the ascension of the Hero of Ferelden, Hawke and the Inquisitor? Was Corypheus working for Solas and the Inquisitor got in the way? Why then did he help the Inquisitor? Why help seal the breaches if his ultimate goal is to destroy the Veil? I mean with the Veil destroyed wouldn't the breach be everywhere? Very confusing. My own theory is that Solas is unimportant, the real power behind his machinations has yet to be revealed. Solas is also a pawn, the return of Arlathan just a pretext to gain the help of the elves. I think the real goal is to release the Evanuris and the Old Gods and to finally destroy or subdue both.

I feel like you're given the choice to let Solas die/Kill Solas, but Solas would survive somehow, be it through possessing another being like Mythal (most likely Levellan for us Levellan players) or just barely surviving.

As sad as it will be, I don't see Solas surviving if he's really trying to eliminate the world completely. Unless we get hit with a major swerve and he switches sides at the end to fight against a greater evil, I do not see it ending happily. Which is sad because loosing Solas would be like us Morrigan lovers loosing Morrigan.

I think there’ll be a battle between Solas and the Inquisitor, comparable to Garm’s battle with Tyr in Ragnarok (a battle in which the two kill each other). Tyr and The Inquisitor also lose the same hand to a wolf in their respective stories. However, Solas’ fate in their battle will depend on the choice we made at the end of Trespasser.

Hopefully we get that option! or the option to make him tranquil (then again: That can be reversed and if the elfs learn who he is and how he "liberated" - but also destroyed - them? They might save him!)...damn traitor! Hell, I am not against the veil coming down, because that will probably turn EVERYBODY (!) into mages, so yeah the abusive templars included, but that Solas wants to force this at the expense of innocent bystanders, who he sees as expendable? Yeah, nope! Not acceptable!
