Of all the Dragon Ages, Solas betrayal actually hurt me as a player. I've played & beaten every game & love numerous companions but Solas & my Inquisitor were actual friends. I loved talking to him & all the metaphysical commentary with him. He never left my party. When that fool "betrayed" me I was sitting there mouth open like wtf?! The final thing my Inquisitor said to Solas in the Tresspasser DLC was some shit like I'll find a way to redeem you or save you & Solas looked back & said "I know, my friend." I cried.

My Inquisitor drank from the well of sorrows....I am beginning to think that it isn't such a great idea😬

I have a feeling something bigger and badder than even Solas is going to show up and threaten everything. Whether that's a Titan, or the Evanuris, or what, I don't know. But I think he'll be faced with a choice to fight to save this world or lose everything to the other bad guy. But, speculation.

My male elf Anuel was a Dalish warrior and he created a bromance with Solas. Wanting to become his own person, Solas helped him with that and he was grateful. Anuel was hurt when he found out Solas lies all along but understood Solas and why he was on the path. Even with this he knows that this world cannot die and it is not right to the people of Thedas and as a leader it is his responsibility to ensure that all people of thedas are safe and can come together. He will try his best to redeem Solas but knows there’s a possibility that he will have to kill someone he considers his brother.

You are ripping my heart out with this video. I romanced Solas and I just want a happy ending for him and my Inquisitor. But somehow I doubt that it will happen in DA4. I still think that Solas will free the elves in Tevinter, weakening the Empire and creating chaos as a distraction from his plans. I also hope that he won't use red lyrium. He should know better than that as red lyrium corrups everything - it even corrupted Andruil.

What about the soul of the High Dragon soul from Morrigan's son. Mythal took it from her and if you correct Jackdaw,that power would be key to her revival once the Veil is shredded cheese. My thoughts, best case; she uses this power in order to personally exact vengeance on the Evanuris, or to assist Solas in sniffing them, as they would be weakened and unable to use their full might. Worst case; She kills Solas, the Evanuris, Tevinter, the old lady across the creek, you, me, joy, etc.

I have the feeling that Solas is the only one actually seeking revenge on the other gods. As he said Mythal was the best of them, a voice of reason. And I assume she put the soul of the old god she either got from Kieran or from the dead Wardens/ Alistair's grave, into the eluvian. And that maybe the next hero somehow is possessed by it. It is known that the Qunari have a part of the eluvian system for themselves and they are at war with Tevinter. Our hero could be a bland soltier amongst Tevinter armies and stumble across it. Of course if Mythal plays a double game to trick Solas, that means either Morrigan or the inquisitor are her pawn. And Solas knows about it. On the other hand Mythal could be tainted by hate and revenge. Just like Flemmeth was when she was betrayed by her love and loocked in the tower. Spirits are temped to show when they feel a feeling which resembles them so Mythal was directed right to Flemeth and both escaped to plot their revenge on humanity. And Solas just happens to be their side kick in need.

After reading tevinter nights....i think it would be cool if the protagonist is a lord of fortune or a crow or even an altus....btw love your vids jackdaw.

Hey Jackdaw. Love the channel & content, keep at it. I wanted to throw this out there.........What of the Elven Artifacts Solas asks the Inquisitor to activate throughout Thedas, is actually his Plan B. I remember him mentioning at least twice, he is unsure if the orb would have survived (Intact). This would tie in with the "Solas Ritual". The first time you activate one is in The Hinterlands, also if you chase away the elven mage that was fighting a demon near there. Solas slightly approves & she in turn literally says "Then may the Dread Wolf take you". Could one have to do with the other?

Man, I am just distraught about this, in the best way. The Dragon Age franchise has gone through with creating some of the best, most in-depth lore I have ever read for a video game series, and because of this, they have set us up for an epic ending. They have set so much up- the Blights, the Mage/Tempar conflict, tranquils, complete religions and races- I can't get over the lore created for this series. Between Mythal, Solas, Keiran and the Old God soul-- and I'm so excited to see it all come together.

It's possible mythal can have a darker path. But at the same time. She's know as the protector. She was also what helped saved the warden and was there at the start of Hawke setting them on their paths. Who happened to save ferelden and kirkwall.

Another way to think about Mythal is that she will take control of Fen'Harel from within and may use the one who took the Well of Sorrows as a beacon to do it. But first, she will wait for Solas to destroy the Veil and fight the Evanuris. While it happens, we might face the Forgotten Ones too, and even get access to the Black City, in order to fight and destroy them. Only then she would fulfill her plan and restore the peace to the world, maybe also killing herself in the end. Ending all the Creators and the Forgotten Ones might bring back the Maker or reveal He haven't really existed at all. Maybe with all religions gone and magic again in the world, the Dragon Age serie would end in peace, with no more Blights nor battle between the Chantry, the Templars, the Mages. No more enslavement of Elves, peace between the Dwarves and the surface, Tevinter losing their argument for superiority (magic) etc. I just don't think all of that would happen in just 1 game, it's too much. But, as EA seems to have abandoned the DA series, it may be possible for them to create an enormous campaing. More than 100 hours for a simple playthrough, with insane amount of level gained and increasing difficulties as the war gets more and more complex and "all or nothing".

Mythal is featured since Origins, while Fen'Harel is relative new (in screen time, we all know the Creators are explained since first game). So, from a screenplay point of view, I think it would make more sense and turn the macro story bolder if Mythal is presented as the true villain. Not like something as an old perfect plan, but something she developed after knowing Fen'Harel had woken from slumber, coming from pure desire of revenge. Her people abandoned her. She was forced to jump from body to body endlessly for a long, long time. For me, she simply wish the Evanuris to destroy everything, including Fen'Harel.

I hope in the 4th game Solas has different reactions based on whether or not you were friends, enemies or lovers. I hope they widen the range of dialect a bit more regarding that.

I wish that Inquisitor join the Solas side if she had romance with him. Especially if she was elf mage and claimed that she loves Solas. And also I wish to see Fenris or Kieran in the Dragon Age 4 as the dark characters that helps the main character.

Since Andruil tired of hunting "mortal men and beasts" - is it safe to say that humans were around in some form? And if so, they were before the Veil went back up. Why does Solas think he's going to kill everyone if humans, dwarves were around before the Veil? I don't know. I have a theory the Forgotten Ones were immortal humans. Would make sense since both groups hated one another.

My playthrough kept Solas I bit on the outer, he didn't like a lot of decisions I made as an elven mage... He left in a hurry at the end and I missed almost ALL of this information. At the end of the game I just thought he'd been scheming something evil this whole time and kept the wool over my eyes. How wrong I was! Perhaps I should try a second playthrough? Go a warrior, let the mages go mad and have a love story with Solas... 🤔🤔

"Vengeance shall be mine" will be my path (if allowed) for his betrayal at the end of D3, He chose his path and I will separate his head from his body for it. But will try not to hurt the other elves who do not side with him, those who do die.

One things I would love for bioware to do is doing something like we can choose how our world would be from the settings especially for new players . like we can choose who is the heroes from Origins to and what they had done to save the world during that time and then the same for dragon age 2 and the same for the rest

Can't wait for more of your video miniseries Jack. As for this vid's topic, I think Solas' ritual probably involves convincing spirits to possess willing hosts. These willing hosts will be his agents and his followers. The higher level spirits will posses Solas' magi agents. Any lower spirits will possess his warriors and rogues to boost their strength, speed, accuracy, etc, or perhaps just operate as Spirit Warriors do, which doesn't require possession. Also Seekers. Think back to Ulred, or even Connor. Their powers were made so much greater than any known mage. Another example is Sigrid Guldsdotten. In JoH she fuses with her spirit mentor and wants to hold onto him. You can either convince her to let the spirit go, or maintain the pact and become an agent for the Inquisition. A Chore Table mission involves sending her to a party, where the nobles are awestruck at how powerful she is. She also impressed a Magister, and outdid the senior mages of Ferelden. Now imagine a game full of such powerful beings. Would make for interesting boss battles, in spades! Even the lower spirits would be able to augment Solas' followers. Wynne's spirit wasn't that powerful, but it was mostly focused on preserving her life. That's why her Spirit Mode was not all that impressive, though this can be boosted by healing her one regret and giving her Aneirin's Token (amulet). These spirits could boost even ordinary followers and make them more formidable than most soldiers or even templars. Also, Solas' original character iteration, Zathrien, was bound to Witherfang. Their power was enough to keep Zathrien alive for centuries and preserve a werewolf curse on multiple targets. And of course Solas is bound to the Dread Wolf, or he IS the Dread Wolf. Not really sure what's going on there, if he's like Anders and Justice, or if the Dread Wolf is just a manifestation of Solas' own spirit, like an aura. So, how is Solas convincing spirits to possess people? Usually spirits don't want to do anything of the sort, and aren't interested in living in the real world. I think Solas has made a deal with them. He promises that the Veil will come down, and that spirits will have a better world to live in once the Fade and Real converge. He has also told them of the Neverran mortalitasi and Tevinter blood mages who bind spirits, and has promised to stop them from binding their spirit-kind. That's why Solas threatens them to stop using blood magic and binding spirits. It's part of his plan to keep the spirits willing to go through with his ritual. Once he's ready, he will have the spirits possess all of his willing followers at once. Until then he needs to prevent the binding of spirits, and probably demons too, by mages in the real world. To expand more on the first issue of making the Fade great again, I think Solas has convinced the spirits that the Fade as it exists is fragmented and bland compared to what it was in the days of Elvhenan. Spirits recreate islands that reflect bits and pieces of the real world, or what is gleamed from the dreams of mortals. Solas says there's a better way, and that's to take down the Veil and merge the two realities. That way they can restore beauty to the Crossroads, which will have a carry-over effect on the Fade as well. Plus, spirits will be able to visit the Crossroads freely and experience all the marvels it has to offer. But why does Solas need this army of augmented mages and soldiers? I think Solas anticipates some resistance from the awakened evanuris. I think he assumes they have entered uthenera to pass the many millennia while trapped, and that they will be weak when the awaken. I think Solas is right about all but two of them. I think Elgar'nan remained awake and in a perpetual rage, torturing his own followers in his anger for thousands of years. Meanwhile I think Falon'Din has remained awake, aware, and watchful of his chance to escape while Dirthamen has slumbered. He stayed cool and calm the entire time, exercising immense mental fortitude and discipline. Falon'Din will be the true brains of the villains, while Elgar'nan will be the major power, though Falon'Din will be powerful too. But Solas will expect them all to be weak and they will have to rely on the strength of their loyal followers. Solas' army will be tasked with stopping those rival factions. Solas might try to go after Elgar'nan or Falon'Din himself, depending on which one actually killed Mythal (I believe that it was Falon'Din who did it with the help of his brother). Solas will send his top generals to go after all the other evanuris. Those generals will battle the evanuris while the other soldiers hold back any rival soldiers. I think the group(s) sent to take Elgar'nan will be supremely shit-hammered by him personally, who will burst forth from his eluvian in a rage. This might be the first location we investigate, and I think we might find the place where Elgar'nan was imprisoned full of his own followers either dead or in complete shock after all the thousands of years locked up with him. Falon'Din will hold his own against Solas, and probably defeat him and escape with his brother in tow. All the others might be defeated or not depending on the situation. Maybe June will barricade himself inside his own prison using various creations and contraptions to protect himself while he slumbered. Andruil, Sylaise, and Ghilan'nain might be sealed together or separately, and any of them might put up a good fight. They might also be able to escape, or perhaps use blood magic to gain power by sacrificing their followers. It's also possible any one of them could have outside help, perhaps from the Formless One. I think Solas' original plan was to use the lyrium mines as bait. Assuming the evanuris awoke in a weakened state, they would logically head for the lyrium mine to replenish their power. That's where Solas would have ambushed them. But the qunari and the Inquisitor ruined that plan.

I feel like whoever we play as next will take the Inquisitor with them to confront Solas, and he'll either cave to redemption because of them or he'll be forced to kill them so they dont stop him 🥺

All focus is on the elven pantheon and the chantry is all but forgotten. A lot of truths will be revealed in Dragon Age 4 especially about the chantry, Andraste and the Maker. You pass through the veil to get to the black city which is possibly the realm of the elven pantheon but the chantry believes it to be once the realm of the maker before the magisters tainted it. The veil is the realm of the dread wolf, his creation. So where is the Maker in all these?

I just want to here to full ORIGINAL, unedited Chant of Light; the Maker and the lore around him for is what i focused on the most for some reason when i started this series more then a decade ago, idk but i felt like if we could understand the truth behind that, the truth of all the other lore would become known. Anyone else think that the Maker was just an incredibly rare Spirit? Perhaps a Spirit of Creation? Some form of “first concept”? It would make sense that the concept of “Creation” would be responsible for its own abrupt existence, and the existence of everything after it 🤔

I know I'm a wonder pessimist when it comes to Bioware nowadays, but darnit, I just want them to make great games again. I remember when they were brilliant, selling a couple million copies of Baldur's Gate 1 when everyone expected the new "Pool of Radiance" to be the game that brought DnD back into computer gaming; certainly not a team of a couple dozen upstarts using their own engine on a shoestring budget that needed help from Interplay with their Social marketing controlled by Black Isle. As skeptical as I am, and worried about the release date along with cancelation issues that could arise because of it, this is also a perfect opportunity for them to get back to the original dark fantasy that was envisioned when Gaider and Laidlaw locked themselves away for 2 weeks and wrote a few hundred pages of lore about a new world on a coffee table at Dave's house. Barrel chested men and sexy sorceresses fighting Demigods and demons that temp with power, sexuality and intrigue all while being pawns of various characters who are also being used by others while the once unassuming Solas seems to be the "Big Bad" (Flemeth was the Big Bad once too, and may still be...). Who knows, maybe we'll even find out what happened to our child from the first game. How kick ass would that be?

I am excited..but also hesitant. Either way I am pre-ordering this game...it still hurts Everytime I play DAI. I think I am a masochist as I always romance him...and I cry every time bar the end of the main game and the end of trespasser...I was hoping to leave with him like my character did with Morrigan in DAO. As much as I love Flemeth/Mythal I feel like she is the final boss of the series..the true bad guy and that Solas was merely a pawn. Solas is one of my favorite characters (only second to Morrigan) in Thedas. I know this game is going to hurt like hell no matter what path we chose.

After reading the Horror of Hormak (Hormok?) I personally can't wait to kill the Evanuris. Solas betrayal cut me deep, and I'm going return that favor in kind, screw redemption, hes going down.

I have a feeling that the Evanuris and the Forgotten Once are one and the same. The Elves couldn't understand the sudden turn of the Evanuris from presumed benevolence to madness (probably due to their supposed use of the red lyrium), so they separated the two. Or they simply couldn't settle their enslavers and their rulers into a single group.

Solas had better be able to be truly redeemed or I am going to be very sad lol

Mythal had the old gods soul drained from her as fen'harel rising to power flemeth will be weakened during DA4, fen'harel will use the lyrium idol to weaken the viel , there will 3 major parts in DA4 the war between the qunari and tevinter , the Grey warden at Weisupt fortress and the war against fen'harel and his elven army

Taking Sandal's words as prophecy, I wonder if the protagonist's main choice in DA4 will be whether to re-erect the Veil. I'm curious how that will all play out!

Everyone knows this isn't going to end happy and good because it's Dragon Age, it NEVER ends like that! It will conclude in varying degrees of f&%@#%-up!

As Solavellan TRASH I know my views on Solas are extremely biased. But I don't get how people don't understand that Solas isn't doing this for his own power fantasy but rather because he is riddled with guilt at destroying the old elvhen world. He's trying to right wrongs he's committed hundreds of years ago, unknowingly setting himself up for more failure because he's too wrapped up in the past to see the present, which is what makes him such an interesting character. Most people who hate Solas think he hates the current people of the world for not being who they were in his time, but if you take him in your party, you see him approve of doing small things to help the little people - he truly CARES, but is too wrapped up in his plan to fully understand that THIS is the new normal. I honestly hope to god that a friend/lover can show Solas his plan is wrong (be it after the Veil is torn down or before - because we all know it IS coming down eventually lol) and help him realise the current world is just as good as the old, and help him let go of the guilt that plagues his mind and fuels his motivation to bring back the old world

How come when we play as Hawke and the Inquisitor, and charge the darkspawn lairs in dragon age 2, and dragon age 3? The darkspawn are slaughtered so fast and easily. and effortlessly? I mean, I am commander Duhaime's best warrior. And I wouldn't go alone in a darkspawn lair, and lay all about em like Hawke and the Inquisitor did. I guess they both weren't normal people. And or had backup from other powerful warriors. If they can do it, so can we regular people. Hope we get to eradicate 100% of the darkspawn this time in dragon age 4. Time for a venatori to be in the spotlight.

Is it possible that each race has its own gods? The Old Gods belong to humans, the Evanuris belong to Elves, the Titans belong to Dwarves, the Kossith (?) belong to Qunari? I don't know. The world is on fire and I'm confused.

I continue to think that Mithal is not evil. It is a nonsense what she did in the past then. She saved the Father's Alistair, save Alistair and the Warden, save Hawke, give the possibility to the Inquisitor to save Theldas with the well of Sorrow. ....she plays as a protector not as ennemy of Theldas. I have a lot of question I want to have answers : Is the Architect well one of 7 magister? Can he heal the Grey Warden (because it is him which heal the mother of Alistair, Fiona) If the Architect is well a magister where are the 5 others magisters. In the kinematic of the Dread Wolf rises we see clearly 2 stars in the 7 boxes in the circle where we can see the red lyrium idol, that means that the left two gods will appear in DA4? The artifacts we activate in DAI to close the Veil following Solas are a way to open and close the Veil? Already, in activating the artifacts we have played the game of Solas without what are really the artifacts? I don't understand why he insists to close the veil if at the end he want to open it? I am not sure that Corypheus is really dead because, in the veil there is still a grey Warden fighting Nightmare except if we let Hawke instead the other possibilty of Warden. Why the altar of Dumas worked in DA2? If he is dead, why that worked? Solas told in the Trepasser that they ( General) were in war against their leader before they became king and considered as gods and they succeed to banish this leader. Who is this leader?
