God is one this slogan isn't realistic in my opinion. Suppose, my mother is my creator, what about my father? Grand father, grand mother .....? Similarly I am creation of cycle.

সতীদাহ বলে কোনো প্রথা ছিল না। যেটা ছিল সেটা হলো সহমরণ। সেটাও প্রথা ছিল না। অবশ্যই কিছু বিচ্ছিন্ন ঘটনা ঘটেছিল সেই সময়। যা ব্যতিক্রম। অন্তত প্রথার মানে অনুযায়ী সতীদাহ কোনো প্রথা নয়।

Firstly Sati was not obligatory. Sorry. This is clear misinformation It was prescription. One may not follow. There were no compulsions. Raja Ram Mohan Roy 's mother was a widow . Did she observed Sati ? No clear no. This was clear propaganda driven move . British managed many Indians to act likewise . Ram Mohan was not an exception. Do read Dr. Meenakshi Jain. Many Hindus specially from Rajasthan proudly observed sati . It was their choice. Can you right now abolish suicide ? Certainly you cant. Even Euthanasia is legal is some part of europe and Euthanasia is linked to modernity . Then where is the difference? Even today Sannyasis take Jal Samadhi by their own choice. Can you ban it . By doing this ruler have to ban everything what ruler decides and that is typical anarchy. Certainly west had no bussiness with Sati other than inviting missionaries within India somehow and after this Sati Abolition surprisingly Company rule ended and Crown direct rule started. No this was not any co incidence but a clear motive driven act , specially when Europe was literally suffering from witch hunting. Windows were being burnt and stonned alive by church clerics publicly . So I personally don't second your views and evidence speaks differently. I strongly prescribe you to read Sati by Dr. Meenakshi Jain. and Secondly Vedanta by Adi Shankaracharya is certainly a darshan for oneness of God but deity worship is obligatory in vedanta because vedanta is strict advocate of Smriti and Smriti Contains anushthan and Vidhi. Making a link to Roy with Adi Shankaracharya doesn't suit at all.
