What scares you? It’s a simple question, with many answers. Regardless of what you find unsettling, there are likely at least a few horror games that inspire a push of the pause button and a walk away from the TV. It can be challenging for developers to strike a truly terrifying chord, but Saturnalia aims to give players an experience that does just that. It’s a bold, extremely unique hybrid of genres, but does the experimentation pay off?

Man I'd probably love this game without anything chasing you, without the risk of loosing your progress, without the whole roguelite twist - just as a story-based, eerie exploration game with secrets to uncover, a fascinating world and a thick, foggy atmosphere. Great video!

Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words! I'm with you, I would love an experience that didn't carry the same stakes as Saturnalia. It's been a while since I've played it, but I believe there are difficulty toggles that can make the game much easier and less stressful. Those might make the experience more palatable for you!

Sounds like a mish-mash of various mechanics without any thought given towards "how" and "why" to use these mechanics.

Mish-mash is a great way to describe it! I imagine the enjoyment of that mish-mash will vary greatly from player to player...
