Sausage and Lentils | Jamie’s Great Italian Escape

Back in Italy with Jamie’s Great Italian Escape! In this episode Jamie tries to get donations for the oldest herb garden in Italy, which is based at a Monastery in Lazio. But to do this he needs to cook up some grub good enough to make the locals dig deep, and on top of that inspire the monks to get a bit more creative in their cooking and reinvigorate their passion for food. Jamie cooks up a roasted sausage with beautiful salsa rossa and lentils which goes down very well!

I just want to say thank you for being my inspiration for about 2 years, Jamie Oliver. I'm a 16 years old girl and I want to be chef like you. My mum bought me your book as a birthday gift and I was just crying, because it is my first cook book I ever get and the point is, it was your book. SPN007 Winchester so exciting. I choose nursing instead of culinary school. No regrets, recently I move to Italy and attend a culinary school. When you start your culinary training make sure you travel abroad from wherever you’re at different cultures different cuisines and I applaud you for doing this early in life you will succeed

What fun!!!! I must share this video with my Italian Catholic wife. She loves good food but hates to cook. I am the cook in our monastery so I will give this dish a try.

..oh man.. you know.. this is a strange italian thing ; many times in Italy, men are the real cook of the family , the same happens to me.. I' m Italian , I can cook quite well , but my italian girlfriend , in the kitchen, is a mess, she s a disaster... I don t know why.. 😄😄😄

Jamie I wish I could afford to go to your Nottingham restaurant again it must be 5 years ago when me & a couple of friends enjoyed the meal in there so much I said I wanted to come back for more whitebait. Hold up a sign that says "free food" and then demand donations afterwards. Having a donation tin is fine, but shouting at people who don't donate is just cheap. This is why most people just drive by. They know it isn't actually free.
