I use to feel so bad for not sitting down & speaking my boundaries. I just knew my boundaries & when they were crossed I distanced myself & would become hard to reach until an apology was rendered. This just released so much guilt for that thanks much Mina!!! 🫶🏾

Ahhh Mina, I love every word you say. A few years back I read the book Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg, and while I loved it, there was one part I couldn't get over. Somewhere around the last quarter of the book, he says that we need to communicate our emotions with people when something bothers us, EXCEPT when that something can be resolved within us. And I remember thinking to myself, but we could resolve everything in us... So I didn't use anything I learnt from the book. I just tried to resolve everything within, unsuccessfully. And then a few years later you appeared and finally gave me real communication tools, the non verbal ones, that changed my life. Drama can't even reach me if I don't give permission to it. I love it! ❤

Thank you for voicing the female friends part. I have had so much guilt for cutting off female friends who are genuinely just haters, and I was beginning to think something was wrong with me. Well... there was; I didn't hold strong on my boundaries and let one friend, in particular, get close to my family and bad mouth me to them. She would show up at my family's houses without me being there when we weren't on speaking terms. I cut them all off. My aunts, too. That kind of toxicity is not worth it, just to say I have female friends. I'm close with my family again, but I will never again make that mistake, and I will be careful with what I share with them going forward. I remember, at the time, it hurt so much because I kept thinking to myself, I would NEVER do something like that to someone. I would be so ashamed to even have the audacity.
