Bought mine in 1996 for $100 it’s now a beginner rifle for my wife who’s never even held a gun, taking her Saturday to the range It’s been a great little rifle with no issues.

How's dirt going to get into the magazine? It up inside the rifle locked down.

How do you “uncharged” the bolt on the Savage 62 semi auto rim fire without having to pull the trigger?

Agree with your thoughts on the 10/22. The kids fight over who gets to shoot my Marlin 795 first. That’s a way better rifle IMO. The Ruger Deluxe Sporter is also good but still ranks below the Marlin for me. Looking forward to your update on this little fella.

Thanks, and will definitely update soon.

I have this rifle, bought one about ten years ago and I doubt if you will like it any better than the 10/22, but I could be wrong who knows
@NEPAGUNTALK5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I'll get it out and give it a whirl... Got the 10/22 used, and I think I got a lemon... Will go new on the next one.

The safety is designed to break shooting grip, so you don’t have your finger on the trigger when you take it off safe.

I just did a couple upgrades to my new 64F: I extended the charging handle. It can be done easily. I also added some Williams Fiber Optic Fire Sights to it. Williams Sights do not list a replaceent sight for the Savage 62 or 64, but the Fire Sight for the Ruger 10/22 fits just fine. Mark the barrel with a pencil where the center of the front and right sight are located before removing them. Drift off the existing sights from in the barrel dovetail grooves with a brass punch from the left to the right side of the barrel. The front sight came off harder than the rear sight on my 64F. The rear site came off easily. Install the new fiber optic sights from right to left. Line up with the pencil marks to center the new sights. The front sight goes in harder than the rear. The rear sight has a set screw to hold it in place in the dovetail. The new rear sight has an adjustment for windage and elevation. The Part number for these sights are Williams PN 060213 or Ruger PN 90340 Here are videos of these modifications: Charging Arm Extension: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mdyhm9pmx8_JYXk.html and Fiber Optic Sight Installation: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qs5zi6-mq8-7XWw.html
