Welcome to our "Docu-Review" on the American made Ariel Atom 3S. We tour and interview TMI Autotech, the sole USA manufacturer for Ariel products. Most agree the Atom is more intense than modern supercars produced by Ferrari, Lamborghini and McLaren. It's one of those few cars that if you are not prepared for speed you best bring a change of underwear. However, there is more to the story here. We look at the people behind the car and how small automotive business is not dead in America. Many who want to see products designed and made in the USA will appreciate this look at the new Atom 3S and upcoming Nomad.

Owned one for 7 years and had a blast. Don't buy one if you're shy and can't stand attention. The Atom will get more attention then a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Also be prepared for the same questions over and over again. - what is that -did you build it yourself -is it street legal -what engine is in it horsepower? -is it a sand rail. Mine never had a windshield so I always had to put a helmet on for every drive and that got a little tiring. I drove mind cross-country from New York to California, and yes I did get wet and cold, but it was an adventure I'll never forget. Bought mine for $55K and sold it for $50K, not bad for 7 years of ownership. The Atom is a lot safer a vehicle than a motorcycle.

george palacios Couldn't have said it better! I Just found this channel and I'm so impressed. I really like the reviewers matter of fact style of delivery. I'm so tired of all of the overly animated pro reviewers with their terrible scripted jokes and over the top commentary. These reviews have almost a documentary quality. Enthusiast cars are more than numbers and Savage Geese gets that point across superbly. Well done!

He is better than most, no doubt. But to be the best, in my opinion, you have to beat Chris Harris. Yeah, he has lost some of his edge being on Top Gear, but back when he had his own channel, and prior to Top Gear, he was an amazing reviewer. Still is one of my favorites.

I don’t even own or want a Honda, but they are the finest cars in the world. Do you want a car that has visceral and obvious quality, which does NOT supersede engineering quality. So certain parts could be closer to the edge, but then they’d be closer to the edge. Even Bentley’s have things go wrong with their mindbending beauty and outrageous engineering, but on a reliability scale, Honda wins. It would also be very simple to make an automobile where the number one concern is reliability, where style and feel disappear. Not with Honda. Honda wins.

I am one of the fortunate owners of an Ariel Atom 3. This video says the plain truth from start to end. Driving an Atom is going back to the roots of real, personal, direct driving. It's only you, the car and the road in front of you. You can feel everything, from the differences in the asphalt types, to changing temperatures and humidity (driving next to a corn field after exiting a wood). It's driving "en puresse"

Funny anecdote: One time I experienced a Toyota Starlet P7 with mostly just the door panels and such removed and it already was a totally different experience, feeling so much more like a kart, more exciting. You could hear the road through the doors. Also, one time in my Corolla E11 I drove with the speedometer glass cover removed and suddenly I could hear the rattling of the speedo cable mechanism. All those little things add to one's connectedness to the machine.

I owned an Atom 3 12yrs. The most raw car I can imagine for the street. The performance speaks for itself, but what's really surprising is how utterly reliable and trouble-free it is. It's fundamentally a Honda Civic drivetrain. Amazing car and experience.

I've been an Atom owner and enthusiast for many years and thanks to TMI the future of the Ariel Atom has never looked better! To own an Atom is to never have to explain adrenalin to anyone...just take them for a ride! Great video…and I will be stealing one of your lines.. "It makes you sad for every other car". Well said...

breakawaymotorsports after I worked for years with high end supercars I realized that for personal use I would only go for the extremes...either go very luxurious or bare full racing like the Atom. The in-betweens are just compromises. Until now i'm half way there...driving a fully loaded E-Class 😎 in a couple of years maybe i'll be able to afford the Atom

Great video! I spent 3 non-stop hours yesterday in my AA 2 in the mountains of North Carolina and still cannot get the smile off my face. Mine is an older supercharged version with less power than the new 3S. I really can't imagine more power, I am not talented enough to handle anymore. I only drive mine on the road and yes I know I need to take it to VIR. I have spent a lot of bike time at VIR and those days are behind me. I just love the mountain curves and that acceleration. I thought that I would buy the windshield option straight away but after owning the AA2 for about 4 years I love the anonymity of wearing a full face helmet. It does draw a lot of attention. I am older and the first rule is that when the young girls come up to ask question NEVER take your helmet off!

Another quality video. Before I became a nurse, I worked as a CNC Machinist...what the one gentleman said about the technicians having "pride in workmanship" in the complete build is absolutely true. The main thing I loved about machining is that those parts had my name on them when they rolled out the door. We made various parts and my favorite was starter shafts for JET aircraft. The part started and ended with me. Looks like a clean shop they have at TMI.

Spot on! Discovered you through "The Straitpipes". Just catching up on your reviews. Your perspective is addictive! Just driver the road and the car all become one. This is why this industry excites me. Thanks for reminding me! I had a1993 Honda Civic CX base model 5 speed manual. No power steering, roll down windows, no A/C, no power brakes, not even a passenger side mirror. Just a stripped down car with a 1.6 litre engine. Honestly it was the most fun driving car I've ever owned. I felt everything through the steering wheel and that engine and factory suspension set up made my day everyday! Now I drive a Mazda 3 sport automatic. Same feeling but regret not getting the manual!

Great video, I had no idea that that was how Ariels were being produced in the USA. Nice story, well told. Big thumbs up.
