Pool filter sand went from $14.00 October 2023 to $25 January 2024 Ace Hardware/ Hkme Deot. I think they caught on. 🤑

Too bad I can't get it in my country, because I really like the looks of it.

I have the pool filter sand in 1 ocellatus tank and lake Tanganyika sand that's a salt n pepper in the other breeder tank, they can't excavate the pool sand as good but the tiny babies show up much better after they hatch. Another great video!👍

CEC = Cation Exchange which is pronounced "Cat Ion", not "Cayshen". However take that as a friendly constructive criticism..... this is a FANTASTIC video and is exactly the info I was looking for. I'm setting up a 75 gallon with SafeTSorb, and you showed me exactly what I needed to know!

Great info....thanks for sharing. I am fixing to set up a 36 gallon and have held off because I cannot make up my mind on how to handle the substrate. I am considering Safe T Sorb and picked up a bag today. I wish I had known about the blasting sand and I could have grabbed that as well. I am considering the clay substrate on under gravel plates with ceramic rings below, then mixing some sand with some small gravel I have on hand....or the blasting sand. I like the idea of the blasting sand as it appears to be a bit larger in size. I am going for anoxic filtration. Any input on this idea?

Safe t sorb is inert how could it crash your kh?? Whoever said that has no actual proof it did that and just blamed it on the safe t sorb because it was the only thing they could think of atm they did different and recently. That’s point blank.

SafeTSorb is not inert 😁 it has a high CEC and will suck the minerals right out of the water. It will stabilize after some water changes or can be pre stabilized in a bucket with baking soda.

@@BassManStrikes Would you say it's buffering like some aqua soils do? If so it seems like it could be good for caradina shrimp.
