I live in Texas, my home is paid for but I still have taxes, insurance and upkeep. Something always needs to be repaired or replaced. I have to save for those things. I'm a widow and have found some very useful videos on home maintenance, such as draining your water heater to remove sediment it helps to make it last longer, washing the coils on your hvac so it doesn't work as hard and last longer, cleaning your dryer vent (same reason), cleaning under your refrigerator and cleaning those coils, I've installed hardy plank so I don't have to keep replacing wood, added extra insulation in the attic, learned how to spray for insects, learned about lawn care, started a garden, learned how to can and make bread. Saving money where and when I can. Paying down cc debt (thanks to ex husband). Continously prepping even though my family aren't preppers. Knowledge is power! Great advice as usual. Here in Australia the price of cars has gone up and things like 4wd's, caravans, campers and the like are being sold in huge numbers as people now holiday locally due to International border restrictions. One tip for people. If you couldn't afford a boat before this then you still can't afford one even if someone gave it to you. Expensive suckers those things. :) The sad thing is that people who couldn't manage their money in good times are going to have little hope when things go bad. The trick is to be rich not look rich which is where so many go wrong.

We bought our rental during the last crash. We are now downsizing and will be building a small house on land we already own. Turning our current home into a rental for family members. When we sell the first rental we will have two homes mortgage free! BTW Southem AZ has some beautiful greenery! We also have beautiful mountains 🏔

We recently inherited a couple of boats and are selling them now. But since we don't have a lot of debt (some medical expenses we're paying off interest-free) we can afford to stay firm on the prices.

Spot on advice today!!!! I have always been a saver and lived well below my means. I started working at age 14 and was able to retire at 56. I am now the healthiest I have ever been! My life is so different now. I was having heart issues and my job/career was so stressful. I knew I had to get out with my health in tact and luckily I had enough money to do so.

I did not receive the second to stimulus has, so I received them together which is a decent chunk of change. I'm buying a 1998 Chevy Malibu that has 93,000 miles on it for $200. My dad is a mechanic and the only thing it needs is new brake lines. I will get another hundred thousand miles out of that car and there is nothing wrong with it. barely any rust, the insurance is going to be extremely low, and I don't need to make payments! :-)

I just love they way you said that sorting your finances out takes a lot of discipline. For a number of years I have been living like a poor person. I have invested in stocks which have gone down (stocks in UK market been down since Brexit) but crypto has done well (Thanks to diversification). I drive a 2003 VW and my clothes are old and worn out. I could go on and on. Emotionally it really brings you down. But I got to stay disciplined. The journey to financial freedom is not easy. But I have enough cash as a down payment for a property. Hopefully invest a few of rentals and have a large portfolio of stocks and other diversified investments. My treats are buying a training course on how to invest (nothing expensive), not take-outs or a high performance car or a vacation. Hopefully this investment strategy pays off as I am a long term investor. But I have to stay focused and disciplined. It is really hard because you see people just have simple life and spend their money in enjoying themselves. Anyway thank you for your motivational talk today.

Be careful about panic selling. Sometimes if a company has good value, it is worth holding on to until it goes back up again. This is not a financial advice 😃

She's right. Stress is a killer. Stress causes your body to produce adrenaline and the used adrenaline becomes cortisol. Cortisol will stick to cholesterol in your bloodstream causing your arteries to clog up after a period of time hence heart disease. Had a stressful job for many years and ended with quadruple bypass at age 52. Stay away from stress.

Rule of thumb: 1. A money saved is a money earned. 2. When people panic, you should be invest. When people invest, you should be panic. 3. There is a sunny day, and there WILL be rainy days. So when it's rain and bad thing happens, you're better off crying in a house than without a house. 4. Live like no one else, and you will live like no one else. 5. Be frugal to yourself and generous to others.

I'm still driving my 2009 Corolla, too. It has over 200,000 miles on it and runs great and looks great. I take care of it and will drive it until it can go no further without throwing a huge amount of money at it. I don't care what people think about it, either! 😁

PP - Another excellent video, on may levels! I've had a 2006 Ford Escape since 2006 (and NO I will never purchase a new car again...) It's an older car, it doesn't have the screen for backing up, so I guess I need to know how to drive... But nothing is sexier than not having a car payment for over TEN YEARS! Especially now, with working from home, why do I need a new car? I don't. Keep up the message PP!

Good video. What ever you or anyone else out there does, don't get married to the wrong partner. The partner who will do everything to destroy everything you built and stress you completely out. I don't just mean financially, in fact financially you may be doing well and worked and invested to build what you have, and even were fortunate enough to be blessed with health and wealth. However some people are driven by jealousy and envy and take advantage without contributing or wanting to cooperate and return only loneliness and sadness. Realize they are people with unresolved emotional issues that they can't resolve and realize that before its too late and steer clear of them.
@PrepperPrincess

Also you could have a partner who does not have unresolved issues but is a horrible match who is good at keeping you from your highest potential. Why? Because if you are the one with the issues, but grow through them, learning and growing over decades how to be a better person, how to do finances better etc.. then realize you are with the wrong person. That can and does happen too.
