My uncle has a similar firewood processor. He ordered it from China, a base model, and then upgraded it himself with hydrolics so everything is operated by joystick and buttons. Last August we split around 150 cubics of wood (if am not mistaken the measure units), which was basically 2 big piles of wood logs. It went through a log of around 30-35 cm of diameter without a problem. We had a lot of fun doing this, while listening to some great metal music. Matterafact, I will show him this video, he will enjoy it, I am sure :)

I ended up at your channel because one of your knife videos :) but I started to watch the other ones and I really like them. Not just because they are well made but they are reminds me of my childhood. I grown up at countryside but I'm trapped in a city now and really miss these jobs and this life. Keep up with the good work I'll be watching!

Cool video. I live In a small town on an island in Canada. Some have furnaces and most use a stove. My family and I use a stove to heat up the house, so through winter once the ice is safe to drive on, we go get wood either to use now or stock up (until the ice is safe again)…It’s a lot of work, a lot a lot of work…finding trees, cutting, gathering, hauling, loading unloading, we use skidoo to haul the wood. My family and I use drywood (dead trees) and birch wood (lasts longer esp for nights). It’s good to be out there in the woods for sure and extra bonus is u get a good workout. Anyway enjoyed ur video very much as I have with all ur other videos I have watched, I hope all is well with u and ur family.

Hi farmer E when Starting your tractor try turning the steering back and for when Starting . The way the hydraulic system is designed it starts to put a load on your engine right away and when you turn the steering while cranking it relieves the stress on the starter . Hope you see this!! it may be helpful for when Starting it gets hard especially in winter.

My dad had a friend who was a "Mucketymuck" at the EPA here in the USA who said the best thing the US could do was go to a total wood-burning system of fuel. It was renewable and did not have any weird chemicals pumped into the air and was not scary like Nuclear. This was in the '70s by the way.

Yet another great video E. I love watching your ingenuity at getting things done that you have never done before. The tricks and methods you can learn from older friends is worth its weight in gold...like the stick holding the tree straps together. Don't count us old timers out. From 🇨🇦...stay safe and sharp my friend.

I didn´t have a lot of faith in that stick! But he knew, for sure!! Love it, thank you, Jim!

The firewood processing machine is awesome. I remember when my grandfather got a hydrolic splitter about 40 years ago. That alone reduced the amount of work incredibly.

When connecting two strap like you did, a combination of a knot and a stick works great. Loop them through each other to create a figure 8, but put the stick between them so they can't pull tight. What you did works, but in a situation where you can't have it fail, it would be a problem.

My brothers heats his 1100 square foot home with wood. Starts sourcing in April/May to have complete supply for cooler weather which usually starts October. He is in North Central Missouri. His savings is the gas bill.

Thank you! I thought it was nice to see you menfolk together and I'm glad you can do that again! We are expecting big rains here, but soon, the new house will have the mold removed and sump pump installed. If you take requests (I know you are not a DJ and very busy) I would love to see you back at your friends that you watched the horses for! I think you brought a soccer ball? You looked like you were having fun there. Laural
@FarmerE2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! You´re right, i did bring a ball there. Those horses actually belong to the guy who owns these trees! I´ll definitely go there again, someday... Thank you, Laural!
