In this one I want to quickly talk about saving time in DaVinci Resolve with local color grading versions. It's a simple feature that can be very helpful when you're trying to experiment with different color grades for your videos.

So helpful. Thank you. Especially when I'm testing different methods for saturation, contrast, or LUTs, etc. This and the Export Frame as Still is a good way to do comparisons.

I love versions but I always group my clips, I just wish there was a version for Pre and Post clips. for now I save them as a still but is not as good as having versions.

Great video George! I’m sure I’ll use this feature going forward. Is it possible to create a new version for multiple clips at once? And is it possible to rename the current version for multiple clips at once? For example let’s say I grade 10 clips. I then want to rename the current version of each clip to ‘Initial Grade’. After renaming, I then want to create a new version for all 10 clips. Is there a convenient way to do this?

If you hold Shift and select multiple clips you can add new versions for all of them at the same time. And if you use the method for creating a new version by right-clicking on the clips after you've selected multiple, you'll get the option to name them however you like and that name will be applied to the new version for each new clip. So, in short, yes, you can do exactly what you're looking to do 🙂

@@georgekamenov_ I gave it a try, and it works exactly as you described. I’m thinking I will use this with local versions like INITIAL GRADE, SECOND PASS, THIRD PASS, etc so that I can always get back to a specific version/pass that was discussed with a client for all clips in the timeline. Nice!
