One thing you are missing about travel in Pakistan is creepiness of people. I recently came across video in which one dude did mischief with a foreign girl and while his husband confronted dude he was threatening them. From foreigner perspective this is not only scary but it will leave very bad scare on her mental health.

I liked your commentary on that although we have good geographic location but it is us who need to build on it. I have been living in Texas for about 20 years and the geographic location and terrain here is not that great at all but it is only what they have been building that makes this place a livable place. If the economy is not good or the law and order situation is bad here, I am sure not no one would want to live here. The point is building and maintaining is more important than just having a good terrain granted. Good memories of Karachi airport from 1975-79, yes all sorts of planes and airlines were there. It used to be so busy that planes have to be parked far away from terminal. My dad used to work on Boeing 707, the jet era classic.

Bakhtiyar Khilji who massacared Buddhist monks and destroyed Nalanda University is Pakstan's hero because he was Muzlim and he belonged to Pakstan's "quom" (as per Do Quomi Nazariya) I understand Pakstan's new found strategic love for Buddhism, showcasing to Europe, but it has to be grounded in reality and history. And it requires much more than throwing punch lines to European think tanks.

50.62: the info about credit card isn't as simple in America and other places. Credit cards debt is very high in America and people criticize the fact that banks/stores are ready to give you credit card so easily, as many people lose so much in paying off the interest & spend their life paying off credit card debts. I have a super close friend who made a new CC so she could travel with other girls, and 5 years later, she is still paying off the CC debt from that trip. In a way, it is good that CC is not common in Pakistan. It will only create more financially irresponsible behavior. Still remember, in 2004, a family came to my Naani to ask for money so he could pay off CC loans that he spent on his daughter's wedding. As the collectors were at his doorsteps. It is better not to introduce CC with the current financial ecosystem of the country. Because people will max out their CC and then ask other family and friends to bail them out.

JK, you are absolutely right! why dont you call the PTDC Chairman or Director in your program and put these issues infront of him, northern areas, balouchistan, even sindh - we dont have tourisim based on internationals. Even the upper-middle class Pakistani are gooing to Turkey, Maldavies to enjoy liesure time instead of choosing Northern Pakistan. Reasons no security, no fixed/real prices of hotel, no hygine food and no safe - proper roads. and the most important we have same dirty cloths waiter, drivers, and others = beside when you are inviting someone to your place to spend money - should looks clean and presentable.

Idk where I heard it but it was def on a pakistani podcast. The PIA angle of destroying it was selling rights of specific profit making routes to middle eastern airlines. That orders which used to come straight from the PM office to appease some middle eastern nations. So they basically handed over the golden egg laying goose and predictictible ended PIA.
