Still a great song 60 years later! How many songs stand the test of time like this? This was the song that showed how exceptional this band was. Because of their incredible gift of songwriting. I honestly don’t know how they did it. One great song after another. Hit after hit. This is why they were a phenomenon and the GOAT to this day. That’s why the Beatles are legendary. 👏🏻😎🎸

I've heard Paul talk about this at his concerts. He said he and John wrote some garbage when they were really young that they both knew was absolute garbage. And then they started writing better songs like In Spit of All The Danger and then Love Me Do. But he said once they put the final touches on I Saw Her Standing There together, and they played it through, that cracked open their minds on how to work with each other and bounce ideas off each other, sometimes finishing each other's lines or words. Once they broke through that door they just exploded with words and music.
@dynjarren8355
@dynjarren8355 2 жыл бұрын
@@joe6096 Thanks for that anecdote! I never heard those details before. It a good story! Love me Do I still like for it’s simple charm. It shows the promise of better things. But I saw her standing there was a breakthrough hit no matter what! A great, catchy rocker that got people singing along and dancing even. That song broke through the walls and showed they were something special. Their chemistry was incredible and then George started making his contributions. I like all of his songs a lot especially the early ones. Like Don’t Bother Me and I Need You. Together, as you well know, they were three great songwriters and singers who also harmonized well. By some lucky twist of fate, their voices blended well together and they weren’t even related like the Everly Brothers were. So the writer usually sang the song with the other two singing the backup vocals. And it always sounded great. This is why they are the GOAT! No other group can match what they had. And they are Legendary now. What are the odds that one band would have that much talent? Probably a million to one against it. But they were that lucky combination. Like lightning in a bottle. It’s rare but when it happens it’s special and spectacular! Thanks for sharing that story. Unlocked their minds? They unlocked them all right! And created incredible songs and music that have passed the test of time. The Beatles are Forever!

Paul McCartney...love love love him. Best on the planet🌎. A true legend, a great person and it is so so wonderful to have two of the Beatles with us!!!!! Paul has always been my idol... favorite Beatle and always will be💕. Paul McCartney playing in this small place made a lot of people very happy. I know I was when I saw The Beatles TWICE in person when I was a kid. They came to Chicago and played two concerts!!!!! One at Comiskey Park and Chicago Amphitheater. I was THERE!!!! Had the BEST time of my life and I`ll never forget it as long as I Iive. There will never ever be anything like The Beatles again and that is a fact. John, George we love you, we miss you😢. Rock them in heaven🎸🎸. Peace and Love✌💗

Dennis Ratering I saw him in 76 on his Wings Over America tour and was front row dead center. "Wings at the Speed of Sound" was his latest album and he opened with Venus and Mars/Rock Show. Back then you could see bands with general admission and could sit anywhere you could get. My girlfriend at the time Tina Koustenis (you out there Tina? I remember you fondly) for to the Capital Center (long gone) in Landover, Md. 3 hours early in my 71 Pinto (loved that car) before they opened the doors and RAN to the stage, it was awesome. We were probably 20 feet further back than the fellow filming this. Can you believe it only $15.00? I never forget that night, it's one of my best memories. I had to work that night but told myself if I couldn't get off work fuck it I quit, I'm going to see a BEATLE! Seen him 3 times since, twice in 1990 in D.C.and 2005 in Philadelphia. Those tickets could me $630.00. What a difference time makes.

When I was there, all I could think about was Why? All these great artists played here! Performers who have appeared at Pappy & Harriet's over the years include Paul McCartney, Eric Burdon, Eagles of Death Metal, Queens of the Stone Age, Rufus Wainwright, The Donnas, Grizzly Bear, Neko Case, Spiritualized, Lucinda Williams, Leon Russell, Arctic Monkeys, Daniel Lanois, Band of Horses, Sean Lennon, Billy Corgan and the Spirits in the Sky, Vampire Weekend, Wanda Jackson, Ricki Lee Jones, and so many more.[1][2] A surprise appearance by Robert Plant in early 2006 led to a jam with the Sunday evening house band, The Thrift Store All Stars, which featured Victoria Williams. Not to mention the bands that played there unannounced that are not on any list . I'll bet many "famous" stadium players would love to play a small club again where you actually can see and feel the vibes of the audience. The problem of course IS the audience. Years back NeilYoung showed up unannounced at the old Catalyst in Santa Cruz. Crowd went nuts. Neil said he'd love to come back if we could keep his appearance quiet. (Don't broadcast it). He showed up another time and the word got out that Neil Young plays the Catalyst and it got a little crazy and he didn't come back. So if a fampous stadium player shows up art your club, enjoy it to the max, but keep it under your hat.
