That is why many of the old saw makers and plane makers used Apple for handles and totes. I love Apple for carving. It is butter smooth with sharp tools.

Love your choice of music on your videos. You bring a ethereal sensibility that for me shows a respect for mother natures bounty.

Just started cutting into some apple limbs on my upright 14" bandsaw. These smaller ones are too thin to have particularly dramatic heartwood, but they're still interesting. Can't wait to see how the thicker pieces look like on the inside.

The wood from fruit trees (such as apples and pears) was used to make up-market Tea Caddies here in England. The caddies would be made by turning, often in the shape fruit itself. Apple wood is a lovely thing.

Save those first cuts for the smoker. Pork chops smoked in apple wood. Yum.

Our filler used to save in a can the metal that we sawyers cut through. Although it did not take long, maybe 10 to 15 minutes to change a blade. Those wasted minutes add up. Then the filer had to spend a hour or so setting the teeth, sharpening and tuning the blade again before the blade could go into the ready rack. Each side of our mill tried to have roughly 6 to 8 blades sharp and ready to go all the time. One of the reasons for both sides having different blades was that the left or right side saws had a different tuning needed.

I really like that overhead camera view as the blade is cutting through the wood. It adds another dememtion to the over all process.
