Making Of Inspirations Documentary. Take a Tour of Brockfield Hall with 𝔹𝕚𝕗𝕗 and 𝕊𝔸𝕏𝕆ℕ and listen to snippets of unreleased tracks from Inspirations, out March 19th. Pre-order at smarturl.it/SAXONINSPIRATIONS
“𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟... 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞! 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬.” 𝔹𝕚𝕗𝕗 𝔹𝕪𝕗𝕠𝕣𝕕
British Heavy Metal legends Saxon will deliver a full-roar-fun-down set of covers with their latest album Inspirations, which drops a brand new 11 track release featuring some of the superb classic rock songs that influenced Biff Byford & the band. Inspirations is set for release on March 19th 2021 (Silver Lining Music).
Inspirations was recorded at Brockfield Hall near York in the UK, which was built in 1804 and holds the largest collection of paintings by Yorkshire’s impressionist artists - the Staithes Group. For Byford, recording Inspirations all together within such a rich historical environment was a major ingredient of the project.
“The warmth and feel of Inspirations had so much to do with being together in this magnificent place and doing it ‘old-school’ style,” Byford explains. “This is how many bands back in the day including some of the ones covered here made such great albums, so it just felt really good to be able to do this somewhere like Brockfield Hall.” The results speak for themselves.
Maintaining a firm eye on the old school way using Marshall cabs, Marshall amps, real drums and produced by Biff Byford with Jacky Lehmann recording and mixing, Saxon approach the likes of Motörhead’s ‘Bomber’ (with added whistle!), AC/DC’s ‘Problem Child’, Black Sabbath’s ‘Evil Woman’ and a raucous Deep Purple’s ‘Speed King’ with refreshingly warm, unfiltered, “vintage” sounding renditions.
“We wanted to do an album based on our influences, the songs and bands that inspired us to write what we did and still do,” continues Byford, “and it was also interesting to see what my voice could do as I haven’t sung many of these songs before.”
Byford does, indeed, take on some new vocal challenges, which he duly smashes on the likes of Thin Lizzy’s ‘The Rocker’. The net result is that whether cranking up a heavyweight take on Led Zeppelin's ‘Immigrant Song’ or throwing down AC/DC’s ‘Problem Child’, Saxon does a supreme job of entertaining both themselves and their audience throughout Inspirations.
"We didn't want to change any of the songs too much, just play them more like Saxon,” concludes Byford, “and we also think it’s very important to have and share with the fans some fun in these dark times."
You want even more proof of the validity behind that statement? Wrap your ears around their sparkling take on Toto’s ‘Hold The Line’ and consider Saxon’s Inspirations a mission accomplished.
Saxon’s Inspirations is available on Vinyl, CD, digital formats and limited edition D2C products; to pre-order go to at this location

If I’m not mistaken in the 50’s ,les Paul and Mary ford were one ,if not ,the first to record their songs in different hotel rooms ,bathrooms, hallways of houses to get their different tones .along with multi channel recording ,les was an innovator and no mistake ..❤❤❤

I saw Saxon first in November 1981 in Berlin live. They promoted their album strong arm of the law. Since them i am listening to them. Truly one of the dinosaurs of heavy metal. Saxon played a fantastic gig in Wacken in 2019. Saw it live on tv. What a sound and what a show. Saxon is great. .

Hi dude's , loved the video and the tracks you were playing for your new album. I saw you in concert at the Apollo Manchester in 1988 when you brought out ride like the wind , great night that was , then I saw you at the international 2 in Manchester and got right up near the stage headbanging , the floor was flexing like fuck but we didn't care 🤘that was the first ten years tour 1990 . Thank you, you guys for the good times , and may you have many more. Keep rocking dude's 👍🤘🎸✌️

Hello guys, I am writing from ARGENTINA, I have seen you since Halley Discotheque, and the times you have played at the Flores Theater, I was able to meet you and share a while with you. I feel very happy to hear this album with great covers at a very difficult time for the world. I want you to know that this work is an energy that you spread in the universe and that although we are many kilometers away and under these circumstances it becomes something very valuable because you are great active rockers, you are that thunder of heavy metal connected to the passion of music. I and all the fans are happy. Blessings friends, you are loved very much and I carry you in my heart. Charly.

Nice one :) but biffs way of speach, he older he gets the more it sounds he's got something in his mouth, what makes it sometimes Hard to understand when he says some words with "th" oder with "s" if you know what i mean?! It sounds a little bit Muffy instead of clear as it Was when he was younger. Don't know if you know what i mean. The pronunciation of the words themselfes changed over the last 10 years. Same Thing about lemmy if you compare Interviews from 2004-2015 for example. Sounds like they have dentures . No hate, i love biff an saxon! :)

Just cover songs, dont cover up way of history!! "Bomber" song by Motorhead it's not realy about Vietnam war or Korean war. That song is about Heinkel 111 diving in the sky and droping bombs in World War II✌
@thelstanegn5348
@thelstanegn5348 3 жыл бұрын
He said he and Lem talk about military history together not that Bomber was about another "war" plus if you read Lemmy words as follows... In an interview in 2015 with Rolling Stone Lemmy recalled the origin of the song "I was reading Len Deighton's book Bomber at the time I wrote it. It's about a bombing raid on Germany when the British hit the wrong town, and it's what goes on the floor in the air from both sides. It's a really good book. You should read it. "Bomber" was the first song I wrote about war. We made a big bomber lighting rig for the tour and we've still got it. It's big; it's about 40 feet down, 25 or 30 feet across and it's got lit-up propellers on it. It gets a truck all by itself." It does have a Heinkel he 111 on the cover of Bomber, I'll give you that.
