Yeah. I did not really notice that while watching the clip, but after I saw your comment I thought, woah! That is really rare, I don`t think I have seen another band with that kind of maturity and actual former members saying nothing but good things about a band they left or were fired from. Really cool of all of them.

I agree. I used to argue with myself over which lineup is better. But both are great, but different. I like the first 2 more than anythin they have done since "Somewhere in Time". They play with the same formula on every song. E-D-C-B-A, repeat. Still, they were huge for me back in the mid 80`s.

The thing that always struck me was how they supported their fan base. I think it was the World Piece tour and they’d played Bristol Hippodrome. It was a foul night and about 20 of us were hanging round (wet through) waiting for autographs. They invited us to wait in the theatre while they got changed rather. After about 15 minutes they came out, chatted, signed everything and made a great impression. Not all bands even bothered with signings. Acts like these allowed them to hold on to their grass roots. While becoming the biggest band in the world. Great video!

Iron Maiden is and has been my all time favorite band for close to thirty five years. I was 8 years old back in 1986 when I first listened to Hallowed Be Thy Name, and it changed my life forever. I even knew as a little kid that there was something very special about Iron Maiden compared to most other bands. I love every era from the band with all three lead singers. Steve Harris in my opinion is the greatest songwriter ever, and members like Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, Janick Gers, Bruce Dickinson, Paul Dianno, and Blaze Bayley also helped cowrite many amazing songs throughout their whole catalog. I have seen Iron Maiden live many times, and last year was the most recent show I have seen off the Legacy Of The Beast Tour. They are still a phenomenal band live , and they make most bands that are younger than then look really bad. They are still having a great time playing live. They are still running around the stage, and smiling the whole time. They all still love performing , and they have not lost a beat. UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First 2 albums have a raw, primal feel that I just love. The Ides Of March and then Wrathchild is one the best metal album openers I've ever heard. Ides of March just has like a grand/epic feeling I can't really describe with words, and then transitions nicely into the fury of Wrathchild. And I love Paul's screams on the title track.

@@bbadam19 That's true, but at the same time the band was weary, after all they were playing 85% of their songs for 3 straight years. Di' Anno didn't want full world tours, and Clive probably the same. They needed some kind of refreshment, otherwise they would eventually be like some earlier GNR version - known for 3 albums made in the earlier years and tour the rest of their lives with (almost) the same catalog. Bruce and later Nicko allowed Maiden not only to survive the 80's, but made the band one of the most influential in the world.

I was 12 in 85 when I heard of Iron Maiden. Up until that point it took me 3 hours to mow my parents lawn. After I got a Walkman and a Powerslave tape, it took me 2 hours and I burnt out the tractors clutch twice that summer because that album got me so fired up. It was the coolest thing I had ever heard. I still remember my dad yelling at me to slow down. By the end of it I had bought all the other albums, better headphones, and my dad gave up and bought a better tractor that I couldn't break and life was great. I have gone through many music changes since then but Maiden has never left my rotation.

Paul is none of those things, but he really was such an awesome fit for early Maiden. One of my peers tossed some smack their way after they pretended to have any knowledge of the passenger doors we were working on. One of them looked and touched but "Lou" stopped him and said "oh NOW you give a sht about what we do here ehh?" Dickinson said "Leave those boys be, they are the only ones actually doing a job right now" or something to that effect 😂

One source says Clive was drinking too much and playing gigs too hungover to the point he had a puke bucket next to his riser. Clive claims he was sick with a stomach bug. Throughout all the beatings, Bible verses and P.T. drills . Guess what I'm Still a Iron Maiden Fan !!! And no surprise there is no Devil in me. Never was Never will be. But Eddie will live Forever . Thank you to the Band and Everybody who made it possible to allow me at such a young age to have the strength to get through the toughest times of a kids Life through the power of thier lyrics . When I was about 7, my mother gave me a cassette that she got from a friend which was a home recording of the Powerslave vinyl. But the tape was too short and it cut off in the middle of the solo after the narration in Rime of the Ancient Mariner. At around 9.50. I went years longing to hear the last 3 minutes until I got hold of the CD when they re-released it in 98. I was obsessed with that song, years later we had some task in school to translate a song lyric, of course I chose the Mariner. And I did the Number of the Beast too just for fun. And so on.

Sooo many stories and good times had with Maiden in background. Best concert ever in Florida! Been a fan for over 30 years.

There are a lot of bands that i really loved growing up but none of them ever made me feel connected to a band like Maiden. From the very first song i heard from them I was enthralled with this band. The connection was instantaneous.

They absolutely captivated me, starting in the early 80's. I was 9 years old listening to a live performance on the radio in my jammies under the sheets praying my mom wouldn't come in and turn the radio off. I still listen to them enjoying the music just as much as I did when I was a kid...and Im 49. Now I recognize the beauty and honest in their lyrics.

My dad saw them at the QM in Glasgow in 1980 or something. Still has his copy of the Soundhouse Tapes that he bought at the gig, asbolutely pristine condition. Wonder how much it's worth now?

The thing about old demos from bands who had success is they all are everywhere online so the rarity thing is gone. So the value is mostly in nostalgia and what a collector is willing to give to have it in their collection. I would keep it in a safe place. It will only increase in value.

Mint condition, based on a quick look round, I'd reckon it would go for somewhere around £1800!

@@andreaohara3402 big difference is Steve didn't get a giant ego and say it's his band and they still stayed together all these years.

I was lucky to be an American fan that got to see Paul as their Vocalist in Kansas City, opened up for Judas Preist and bacame a devoted Maiden follower forever from that day on, next time I saw the band live they had Bruce, mind you it was just a couple Months later...now headline in Omaha NE. same show basicly but with Dickinson. OMG I was a bit worried before the show but was even more blown away than what I was in KC.. I still have my Tshirt from then because I have olny worn it for their concerts and have not missed any tour = for now over 40 years my next time will be for my 63rd birthdayon the 18th when I see the Sat, Sep 17, 2022 • showat the Ball Arenain Denver, CO
