And just like that, the #Jaguar #FType is dead. After 10 years, Jaguar are ceasing production of the sports car that has been so integral to this channel and my life.
Jaguar is about to go all electric and with the end of the F-Type, we also say goodbye to the combustion engine sports car from Jaguar... an icon.

As this video is so special, I have to tell my (our) f type story in here: In 2016 my dad and I came across the manual f type. We’re both petrolheads and love car. He especially loves English cars and had quite a few (now) classic English cars. In April 2016 we went to the nearest jaguar dealer and asked if we could drive one. It was amazing. The sound, the quality, just the feeling of this car was amazing! My dad wasn’t comfortable to buy one at that time though so the only thing we took with that visit was the memory and some videos. Years go by and some time later my grand dad leased an f type SVR convertible. It was to this day one of the craziest cars he had (an he had quite a lot of cool cars: Maserati gran Tourismo, M6 V10, VW Phaeton W12, Bentley continental supersport, and so on). I drove it a few times (i was 17 at that time and was only allowed to drive it with my dad hahaha😂 The experience driving this car was out of this world. The sound was so obnoxious and loud it was not comprehensible… Then a year or so later, my dad and I found a British racing green f type coupe with beige interior AND the manual transmission, with just 2300km or so, basically brand new! Turned out to be a car used for the jaguar driving experience and was completely fu**ed. interior was in bad shape, already got new brakes, and it definitely didn’t feel like it was having anywhere near 380PS. Time then went by again and someday my dad, my little brother and me went to the jaguar dealer again just for fun to look and later go shopping in town. As we got there we were confronted with the salesperson saying: if you really want to order one with a manual, you have to do so until next week Tuesday. After that we have no possibility to order the pre facelift anymore (this was October 2019). On the one hand we went away gutted since buying a car this spontaneous was not in our mind AT ALL. We basically knew, this was it. The next days my dad was so unsure what he should do. He could afford it to get one but spending this much money on a car „just because a manual can’t be ordered anymore“ wasn’t feeling right for him. At first! Because after going back and forth like a million times , he pulled the trigger. This was absolutely crazy for us, especially me as well. Because I knew, this might be the last time in my life that I was able to experience buying a new car in that category. (Even though I wasn’t the one who pays) Fast forward about 3,5 months and we could collect the car of my dads dreams! A brand spanking new, custom specced British racing green manual f type with dark brown sport seats and everything important that an enthusiasts car has to bring. He enjoys it everytime he drives it, even though he only made about 10.000km in it. After speaking to the guys at the f type factory in castle Bromwich we found out, that our car was one of the last 3 manual f types EVER produced and THE actual last one with this spec. Approximately 1200 manual types were ever produced he told us. This car will never ever leave the garage and this year, we’re doing a roadtrip with it to the Goodwood festival of speed! I can’t wait for it!! So yeah, I can definitely share the absolute passion and specialness of the F Type and for me it will be the most timeless and beautiful looking car ever made! If you read until here, thanks 😊 and Incase you’re interested in seeing some pictures of the car, you can look up @brg_ftype on instagram. I’ve uploaded a few pictures there!

An cinematic masterpiece. Beautiful camera work. We share the same emotional attachment to the F-Type. I first saw the launch video as a 29 year old up at the Gaydon Jaguar test track in 2013. I promised myself there and then, that one day, I would own one. I'm now 4 years into ownership of my F-Type and just paid her off in full last week. A life long keeper. Memories of driving to Le Mans 24 with my dad, twisting through the Scottish highlands with my wife, my two little girls asking if it's their turn it is to ride in daddy's car. Irreplaceable, priceless memories. As a lad who grew up on an East London council estate, kept my head down, worked hard and got lucky along the way, it's a dream I never dared to dream as a kid. Thank you Ian Callum. Thank you Jaguar.

It’s such a shame, I adore the F-type! My friends dad took me out in a V8 R when they first launched(he was chief mechanic at one of the dealers) and I was obsessed instantly. So I started looking up videos of the car on KZfaq, which led me to your channel and I’ve been watching ever since. It’s such a special machine and I too hope to own one, one day. And I definitely want a quicksilver exhaust on it when I do 😉😅

On these sorts of videos we often make a comparison to the similar style that Top Gear or The Grand Tour have done. With good reason; the epic cinematics, monologue and music are the only way to do these fantastic machines justice. They are/were a huge part in our lives and we should document them. This is the best way of doing that and to that I say well done Sam!

Sam, thanks for this. Your „Living with a Jag F“ video has clearly put the F-Type R RWD on my radar and intoxicated me enough to buy one, three years old, low mileage, perfect depreciation price point. That’s the kind of effect your way of filming, editing and commenting has on people. Congratulations. I did not buy it as a financial investment of course, just purely for the passion but I do agree that one day especially the first RWD V8 Coupe will be considered the last true representative of the 60s design principles with the power and comfort of the 21st century. All the best for you!

What an amazing video Sam, I’ve been around since the first ever video and can absolutely relate to your stories with the F-Type. That moment at around 8:10 ish literally gave me goosebumps 😭 For me, the equivalent is the Audi TT which has just recently gone out of production forever, too. It’s so sad, but so romantic at the same time when a car just changes your life and you get to enjoy every second of driving it. Of course it’s not the same as an F-Type, but for me it was always an occasion to jump in and drive - no matter where!

What a mistake, Jag. If any vehicle deserves to stay in the lineup w some form of ICE, it's the F-Type. Sam, Your channel was what made me want one more than anything. Rented a V6 S Convertible when touring my soon to be home in Oregon 2019 and fell in love. Unfortunately couldn't find a manual V6 car when I finally had money for a used one so I settled on a V8 Mustang. The only thing I'd trade up for now is an F-Type R or SVR! I need to own one of these. If only for a little while.

Genuinely one of the best motoring videos I've ever seen, and I'm including T.V in that !! Amazing visuals, heartfelt dialogue and true emotion whilst talking about the cars. And the best thing is we have been there with you on the journey and it's been memorable :)

I have had my V8S Convertible since new (2014). She still makes my grin whenever I see or drive her. Looks as good as new. Your video is a fitting tribute to the car. She's definetly iconic. I cant even imagine parting with her.

I just love watching your videos. The cinematography is pure heaven and you telling a story, taking us on your journey, let us all be part of your thinking… itˋs like asmr but for carguys! Keep it up, your doing so amazing. Still my most underrated KZfaqr/ car journalist… you should be so much bigger. The quality of your videos is unmatched by any other

I’ve been watching you since the 4c days and this video really hits home. I was also lucky enough to take design lessons a few years back from Cesar Pieri, the designer of the Project 7, making this a really special video for me. Thank you Sam for all your hard work and great content, and as for Jag, you have well and truly worn your way into our hearts ❤

I’m not even a huge ftype fan, but as a video you have managed to plunge all of your passion and emotion for a vehicle into a video with excellent cinematography, emotion and history. Top work. Genuinely better than anything top gear or grand tour I’ve put out in such a long time. You should be so proud of this video

This is the best video you’ve ever produced, absolutely top class Sam. The filming and cinematography are simply outstanding, this is big budget Manufacturer advert standard, honestly this was breathtaking, emotional, I’m blown away. I want one.👍

Great video! Been following your channel since the 4C days and loved the F-Type content over the years. Been a fan of the F-Type since it launched and owned a V6S for 2 years and loved it. Recently sold it as I need the money for some house renovations, but definately hope to get back in one at some point. Would love to experience a V8 F-Type for a while. I do think this car is a future classic, as everyone I spoke to loves the way it looks, feels and sounds.

I've watched your channel since the TTS and you were the first automotive youtuber I ever watched, and one of the only ones I've stuck with all this time. I adore how passionate you are and how confidently you show such real passion and emotions, especially over RELATABLE things. I've loved watching your story with the F-TYPE for the last 8 years and can't wait for what comes next. This video made ME teary and I don't even own an F-TYPE as much as I love it dearly 😂
