Yal Rathol Ecto-sensei has appeared, though I'm not sure I'd say he's like a Bleach shinigami. Tokoyami comes to mind because his costume is a black cape thing and because he intentionally evokes the image of a samurai. Though I guess Ecto-sensei is kind of like a hollow.

Me neither. Stain is a massive hypocrite that actively hurts his own goal anyways, so he's also a giant idiot, and that goes without saying that his 'ideals' are a bunch of bullshit. I admit he's dedicated but that doesn't really warrant admiration.

People will gravitate towards anyone that shows confidence in what they believe no matter how fuckin dumb it is. If you truly and honestly believe in whatever it is, people will (be it for good or bad reasons) start listening to you and start contemplating what you're saying. He is not charismatic in the normal sense but he is loud and speaks confidently and matter of factly about what he believes. And that just gets to people, especially to those who are in a bad position in life and need something else to believe in and needs a leader to guide them cause they can't motivate themself. That's speaking to in universe mostly but fans as well.

Dead Brain actually, the weird part is, at no point is stain hypocritical. he wants to cleanse the world of bad heroes so that there'll finally be enough good ones to stop him. he's actively hunting "bad" heroes to encourage the good ones to grow and hunt him down. he even states that only all-might has the right to take him down and saves midoriya because midoriya is selfless. his ideology makes logical sense. right up until the moment you hit "so kill them, yeah?", at which point the only logical response becomes a wooden spoon to the hand and a scolding.

Lord Blue Balls Not even kidding, the larger than life character is never more interesting than when their arc is about realizing they can no longer be a larger than life character. And before someone mentions whatever story where Superman goes through that, the effect is somewhat diminished when you know the character will bounce right back to status quo eventually.

Requian, nah, it doesn´t diminished it, once i understood how western comics worked i managed to treasure the moments and characters arcs of a determined continuity, short history or arc and treat them like their own thing , funny enough , that happens a lot in long running mangas with variable quality too (i love naruto till the chounin exam, hate most of the arcs and shipudden afterwards, i love bleach soul society arc , everything after sucks , etc.)

It's that, but then also "what if Superman was actually human?" He's not this invincible hero the media likes to portray him as, and he can't be everywhere at once. As powerful as he is, the guy is still human, so you can actually semi-relate to him.

How can a superhero that bland and boring stay relevant for so long?

As much as i love all might, im going to be fair. captain america> kiryu>all might>superman Why kiryu? because they all are the noble hero paragon with a heart of gold that will keep their believes in a cynical world.
