You know this is something positive EVO and all these videogame events have always been homebrew it's only when you get to a certain size that you start to realize how the pros do it so that it never happens again With some luck actual id based registration and other measures will be implemented and improve the quality of the events

So when Woolie says you get to learn how to navigate a crowd easily, I also had to learn that same skill but for different reasons: concerts. You always wanna be close, yet get some beers before for the show. My trick: hand in the front cutting a path, muttering a "scuze me" from time to time and NEVER make eye contact. Just a look of "I don't care 'bout you, I just gotta be there". If the guy doesn't move, go left or right until someone does

Actually, I think he was talking about processing a crowd of people, trying to check in. The idea being that it would take a lot longer if they had to ID everyone coming through. Each individual might only take 15 extra seconds, but if you're processing 100 people, that's an extra 25 minutes on top of what it would already take to process everyone.

then you misunderstand pat. pat is fine with cheating and fine with beating cheaters with iron rods. the disparity is that he's fine with cheating provided it benefits him, and is fine with being punished for cheating if he's caught, thus he holds everyone to that standard. his morality is essentially "follow the law, but it's not illegal if you don't get caught."
