Tom Helms never for directing. That’s what the comment is about. Didn’t get a nod for any of the Dark Knight films, nor for Memento, Inception or Interstellar. I’d like to see Dunkirk taking home the Best Picture and Best Director prizes, but if the way the award shows have been any indicator, doesn’t look like this will happen. A surprise could be pulled and Dunkirk wins either Oscar or both of those Oscars, as well as other awards, in particularly in the technical categories, but I’m not sure. The Oscars can surprise everyone with their decisions. Just when you think you know which film will win the top prizes, they’ll surprise you. That said, I do think Gary Oldman will get his Academy Award finally. Long overdue for him indeed. This should be like Oldman’s fourth or fifth Oscar win by now.
