The city (s) need to step it up. Instead of giving out violation notices to elderly and disabled, they should require theses jobs done by those who are required to do community service.

Community service is great idea. I don’t know if some of the kids have the expertise to do a lot of this. I know when my boys were doing their Eagle Scout projects, we supplied the all the equipment, gas and supervision for the trail cleanups they did. Using kids is sometimes a conundrum. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Been reading the negative comments. To all who can't understand how it got into this shape while someone still lives there... Well when you're old, arthritic, sick and on a small fixed income, there are things that get set aside. Thankfully there are people who are kind enough to help those in need. You’re a good man! We used to help the elderly out when I was in the scouts. Cut lawns, paint porches, shovel snow. Times have changed. I still stop and help someone shovel snow, fix mowers and lawn tractors. Hope someone does that for me when I’m older. It’s not that far away.

FUNNY. My 74 yo husband, with 2 new hips shovels our drive way and the 35 yo neighbor's drive way. He gives us wine and candy in March. OK. My husband and the other neighbors will all shovel together and use their snow blowers together. It is a site!

I am in my 70’s and still do my own yard work. I would love to help you do some of these projects. It is so gratifying to work on something like this and get tremendous results. Working with the right tools is a must when tackling the tall grass and scary sidewalks.

Wow... Now that's what I call a yard renovation! Just one tip (from an old gardener): When you are using the hedge trimmer, cut from the ground up! Your instinct is to cut from the top down, but the falling branches inhibit your ability to see/cut the lower branches effectively. That's why, when you raked up the branches, so many of the bottom branches were uncut! If you start at the ground and cut upwards, the cut branches fall directly to the ground and you still have clear access to all branches above you! Keep up the great work!

You are SUCH A GOOD GUY. 🥰 helping out an elderly gent who can no longer care for his yard himself anymore, and if i were to hazard a guess, COULD NOT AFFORD to pay fines 😖, times are so TOUGH right now! I recently moved back in with my parents because we were ALL struggling money wise. Staying afloat TOGETHER is working fine at the moment…but not everyone has family to team up with like that.

SB Mowing, I appreciate the fact that that you're helping the elderly. I was raised old school, I'm 48 years old. I had no father figure, grew up in a single parent home. My grandfather was my father figure and he taught me to respect and care for the elderly. Even through I'm not related to the person your doing that for, he put it down before so we can live the way we do today. Got another subscriber.

It's never occurred to me before that you would have to keep up with the yard work all year in places where the snow doesn't keep the grass under control by itself. The snow is its own job, of course, but you get a lot more kids and teenagers wanting to help out with it

I can only imagine how stressed out, embarrassed, ashamed etc he was feeling. Most elderly people have worked very hard in their lifetimes. These are still the generation where there were few luxuries we take for granted now- air conditioning, motor powered lawn mowers etc. Many have done their fair share of a back breaking honest days work when they were younger. Being unable in their older years is hard enough for many of them, but for the city to add to it all is horrible. I know their has to be laws, but there also needs to be a service to help them. Our taxes pay for some ridiculous things, I wouldn't mind one bit if there was a program for elderly citizens to receive a basic yard service twice a month. For several decades now the goal was to keep older Americans in their homes and as independent as possible. Seems like that is no longer a priority. Some comments are horrible. Someone suggested he go to a nursing home and sell to someone who can take care of it. That is a repulsive way to be. God Bless 🥰

Know from experience how much this helps. We're unable to do yard work. Neighborhood couple blocks over came by and cut busted limbs. He's been helping ever since.

When elderly have been in a neighborhood for years and no one helps them you have to question why? If they have children that may not live near, you have to wonder why they don't help. No grandchild, neices, nephews, no one helped... you have to wonder about a person's personality

My parents are 76 now and my dad has ALWAYS kept a beautiful yard and my mom always planted beautiful gardens and flower beds. They have an acre and beds, ponds etc all around that thay have built and created over the last 50 years of living there. My mom cannot do anything now, my dad does what he can but spends much of the day walking my mom to and from the bathroom, making their meals etc. He sets his alarm for every 2 hours at night to wake up and walk her to the bathroom- in Jan 2021 she lost the ability to walk by herself safely and became unable to tell when she had to go to the bathroom due to a cracked pelvis after a fall. She had a severe stroke 33 years ago, but was still able to care completely for herself, make meals etc until last year. He struggles in the yard to keep up what they always did together. Last month the wheel just fell off of his tractor while cutting. I live close by, but have no way to get my mower over. The neighbor saw him struggling to push the riding mower up the yard, came over and helped him get it to the shed. About 15 minutes later my dad looked out to see the neighbor using his own riding mower to cut for him. The neighbor isn't a "spring chicken" either, but 63 is a big difference from 76! I was very grateful. His yard wouldn't have been nearly like this gentlemans by the time the mower was repaired, but mentally it made my dad feel better. He is trying so hard to take care of my mom and the yard and the shopping. I help and my girls are 22 and 19 and they help with the yard and shopping as much as possible. But it is sure wonderful when someone steps in to help without being asked! I'm so happy you found a helper!! God Bless 🥰

It can be a huge undertaking depending on how overgrown some yards are, but just take your time and if you need to come back another day to finish up, it's all good! SB you did an excellent job on this incredibly overgrown yard and you really went above and beyond to complete the job. My favorite part is the edging!! I just love it?! The amount of work that went into cleaning up that yard and getting it to a point that you could actually see the yard and see through the fence was absolutely amazing?! My only complaint is that I wish the video would have shown the finished job at the end or presented the before and after shots at the end of the video, because I felt a little cheated? You were obviously exhausted upon completion, so you probably just ran out of time and energy at the end so I absolutely understand. How you do all of that work and subsequent cleanup and scraping all by yourself is amazing?! Thank you for being so kind and generous with your time, labor and efforts. Your spirit of excellence shows in your work and is commendable. Thank you for sharing your videos and generously taking care of the elderly by providing them with free lawn care. Love all you do for other people, especially the elderly or fiscally challenged. ALL of us should take our strengths and skills and do for free what people can't do for themselves. What an example you are. My father had little, but at a very old age he would go out and shovel walks of those who couldn't. He was once found unconscious with a snow shovel in his hand. My nieces motto became forever, "Die with a snow shovel in your hand" in honor of her grandfather who spend his entire life watching out for the needs of others.

It's really awesome of you to help people out like this. It may sometimes difficult when you're out there mowing on a hot day, but you are really making a positive impact on people's lives. Thank you for being a great example for others to follow....thinking of others and their needs.

Another great video!! Your camera work and editing is excellent! I love how you walk off the scene in one direction and appear in the same scene from another direction. You keep us guessing except about how the yard will turn out! That’s always flawless!

You need to either get a bush blade for the stringer trimmer, or use a long handle pruner for those woody bushes you are dealing with. But you did an amazing job for sure. Thumbs Up!

This was sad 😢 What broke my heart was his passing and the clothes line. How many loads of laundry his wife must have hung in that backyard. 💔 Thank you so much for taking care of him! 🙏❤️

All I want to say is a lot of thanks for helping the elderly not only because they may suffer from an illness,but also cause they could be a veteran of a war. You'll never know. I'm glad there's people out there like you,may god bless you many times more,cause if I was rich I would help you out and get you more equipment to keep helping people out. You got my like.

Great job love! I appreciate you looking out for the elderly. You are certainly a blessing. There are so many elderly people out here that can no longer do physical work, find someone who can help them or afford to pay someone with their small monthly check. For those who are very negative towards the elderly situation, my grandma always said you just keep living and you will see..
