Basic Weathering Techniques - Here's a quick (20 minute) video on some basic weathering techniques for your scale model or rc car. I'm self taught and there are 100's of other methods out there which will give you the same results or better. This is the way I initially weather my RC Truck, and then I let the real mud and dirt get to work. Bob Ross is nearly as good as me.
The RC Truck in this video is a 1/16 Scale URAL 4320 from WPL. The WPL B36, which /i have custom built with a twin 370 motor set up and Fayee FY004A Wheels/Tyres. I've heard there may be a WPL B36KM coming, with full metal axles and running gear!
You can find the B36 truck and parts here:

Great tips! Thanks Phil, I have never tried weathering before, so these pointers are really useful to a newbie like me. I was thinking about a new body for my CC01 sometime soon, and I think I'll have a go with some of these techniques - it will be fun to have a go a something new, and as you say, I can always rub it off if I don't like it. Thumbs up mate! :))

@TomleyRC

Cheers dude. Dessert style would probably just need a bit of a dark wash...and then a few dirty areas instead of rust. Most stuff doesn't rust in the dessert.

cool stuff. a while back Gabriel Silvaz channel showed using steel wool to crush leaving particles all over, then using a mister with vinegar and salt mix to make the rust happen. after its where you like it (and dry), then mat no gloss clear coating. another neat little way. this morning got lap full of New Bright Jeep body going onto WPL C frame, gave it 10 mm LED's and plastic chrome bezels for the headlights (super bright!), sliced the hood so it opens (12lb fishing line figure 8 stitched for hinges and magnets to latch shut). it'll be slow with the 400 rpm 6v N20 motors for now. if you haven't seen yet, I uploaded 5 videos last week, 1st one showing the lowered C-24 DRIFT MINI TRUCK! click my nickname to get there I suppose :)
