This is when we have to be our own advocates. The “I don’t know” from this doctor is very troubling. Go from your mom’s experience because the dermatologist I saw told me these changes can be hereditary. I agree that they should check your hormone levels to see if there is fluctuation that could be the cause. All the best, sending positive energy to you. Please continue to keep us updated if you can. 🙏🏾

I used 2% minoxidil with great results...until i went to specialist and he said, "Use men's 5%." I bought mine at the local Walmart generic for about $20.00 for a 3 month supply. I also have Lichen Planus and the 5% messed with my skin on my head. I had to stop using it. The Hair, Skin and Nails (Biotin) gummies- I had to throw away. It made my Blood pressure skyrocket. And I didn't have a problem with high BP before. I am currently not on any meds (daily vitamin only) but still using Red Light Therapy. My scalp is not breaking out due to LP🎉,my hair has currently stop falling out 🎉and some small hairs are starting to grow back in the bare or near bare spots🎉. I used Rosemary oil. I like it and started making it myself. I have never tried pumpkin seed oil. Who knows I may try it. Prayer always works. God bless you! You are beautiful!

Thank you so much for sharing your struggle. When I was younger I had no idea that black women lose hair as they get older. You have enlightened me and I think those naturals that do their own hair go through this more often than we want to admit. Thank you so much for being so transparent!

Thank you so much for this video. I've been having the same issue in the crown area since 2017. The dermatologists were unhelpful for me as well. Stay strong sis, as I know how stressful and frustrating it is ❤

You could be going through perimenopause. Check your hormone levels. My BP was high, hair was thinning, vertigo, etc! I asked my doctor to prescribe me HRT and progesterone and my hair stopped thinning.

I understand exactly what you’re saying. You have to be your own advocate in the medical field…. Also, I love the smell of pumpkin seed oil. I think I can use it forever.

That part at the end! Yes God, You are in control 🙏🏾 I can attest to the laziness of the state of doctors. It's harder to get second opinions now because of our smart cities sharing systems. Find out ways to opt out.

Hi there! I definitely feel where you're coming feom, years of blood and hair issues (heavy cycles, low iron, random breakage and hair loss). Finally ended up on BC to control the cycle, but I believe it led to (or contributed to) thinning in the front of my hair. I've been using topical minoxidil for about a year and i will say it has really helped. Even though you have to keep using it, its been an easy add to the routine. I'd recommend doing the topical vs another internal medicine. Either way I hope you find something that works for you!

Have you tried the derma pen? I read that it's a mini/at-home "version" of PRP treatment as it uses super tiny needles at far more shallow depths. Some docs say they believe the insertion of the needles may be what triggers the hair growth, more so than the serums used along with the treatment... or in the cases of the PRP treatment, the blood that they inject into the scalp. So, I purchased a derma pen (not the roller!) and am working myself up to using it. Once a month is recommended. Twice a month is the max. THANK YOU, for sharing your experience.

Gurl! Lean into it and own it. I hate to see you suffer over something that is not in your control, natrually. We appreciate you sharing. You are beautiful with or without hair. Try cutting it off and rock low hair or no hair. ❤

Thank you for sharing your journey. It can be SO frustrating dealing with the traditional medical field (some, not all). I was diagnosed with CCCA (early scarring alopecia), with a dash of hormonal hair loss - ugh. I'm in remission now but have had a couple of setbacks along the way. I take Spironolactone and Pumpkin Seed oil (internally) to address the hormonal hair loss and blood pressure. I also take a couple of other supplements and am sharing my journey on YT as well. Praying with you on your healing journey!

Some docs are dismissive of the nutrition and supplement approach because they don't know enough about them.

Hi Chris! Speaking from experience, topical minoxidil does work, however, talk to your doctor about topical minoxidil and finasteride combination. That combination works better than minoxidil alone. Also speak to your doctor about oral finasteride (5 mg) a strong DHT blocker, which is specifically for androgenetic alopecia. Finasteride won’t mess with your blood pressure. There’s also oral dutasteride, a stronger DHT blocker. I’m surprised your doctor said a DHT blocker may not help! The research I’ve done and my doctor say the opposite! Nutrafol also helps, as it thickens your hair and decreases shedding! I’ve been on it for a year, and my hair is doing better. Hope this helps! ❤❤
