Scalps - The commander of a Texan fort in the Civil War refuses to surrender to the Northerners, and tries to buy the local Indian tribe chief's daughter. The sage man refuses, and the Southerners massacre the tribe and abduct the young squaw anyway. The noble squaw manages to escape, and hides out with a rough rancher, who dislikes Indians, but hates the Southerners more. The odd couple joins forces, and tactics, to exert ultimate vengeance on the men at the fort.

"Not a bad one for Mattei. Released at the same time with White Apache, and according to rumors with more input by Mattei (who apparently directed most of this film) than on White Apache.
Lots of bad dialogue of course, but that was more or less expected. The music was for certain parts quite good, in the vein of older spaghettis but during other parts awful with more modern (whatever) flavor.
The film was certainly watchable, much better than, for instance, Zombi 3 which he "Co-directed" when Fulci was away for one or other reason. Mattei also tried here for some parts (usually in vein, though) to create this into a some kind of 'drama' film which was not so successful.
I have no idea about which version is uncut and which one is not, the version I saw was on Greek video.
If you find this one somewhere, check it out. It's not that bad as it is rumored to be (depending on your tastes, of course). I enjoyed it anyway."

The natives are dressed as Apaches and are called Comanches(side note Apaches and Comanches are historically arch enemies and had long hated each other)and she uses Lakota words like wasicu and long knife. That’s my only complaint really other then that it’s pretty good. Accuracy 4/10 Story 7/10

Hello from Nagaland, India 🇮🇳. I really enjoy watching the Western natives movies because they are similar to us, sometimes tears rools down when torturing and doing inhumane acts to the natives. Imagining the Indian🇮🇳 Army did to our grand parents all over Nagaland. Anyway my motives is not to spread hatred please don't misunderstand me. Please upload more....

The truth of the is, the Red Indians fought a long time for their ancestrial land, & the preservation of their culture, but the settlers/invaders had superior fire power & more & more kept coming for gold & silver, buffalos were killed almost to extinction, settlers brought sicknesses & wiped out entire villages. So, the natives lost & the survivors were pushed to reservations where they continued to die prematurely of starvation & cold whether. The punishment for the living white whose ancestors committed these atrocities will be harse & painful.

My Chickasaw and Creek ancestors fought with The Five Civilized Tribes AKA Cherokee Riflemen. They considered The Confederacy their last chance to be free from tyranny.

Many natives fought with the confederacy/confederates. Makes little sense that they are being hunted since it was the Union that went to war with the plain Indians

The start of the film suggested they were a breakaway mob. Plenty of soldiers on ether side saw no distinction just as many Indians saw no distinction.

Texans were always fighting with the Indian tribes!!..most Texans fought for the Confederate army

@@martywatts8034 True, but again, those were 2-3 tribes vs the 5 tribes the union would be fighting during the civil war, and the same 2-3 tribes the Texans fought after the civil war. The probability of a confederate unit fighting natives are less likely than those of the North

This movie has been seen many times start to see from cables then reached to see in dvd player after two times have look on the internet connection. Seeing such a deadly and broken and a desparate sweet beautiful red indians girl. It really blow the mind to someone who look at her. Movie is best from the red Indians girl childish face. @@NehpetsRellek what you think you may or may not have seen in this particular movie is of no consequence, I was just stating a fact and my opinion of the women I've seen and experienced from my travels around the world while in the military, job requirements, and personal travels, tho admittedly there are women that regardless of station in life, work they do, race or ethnicity,,whatever is pc,,, that just radiate the most pureness of beauty that is seldom seen, experienced, or recognized by most
