I got a call from a scammer today saying that they are from inland revenue. They wanted me to pay them £1725 by going to a shop and buying vouchers to that value. I stayed on the phone and played along with them for over 20 minutes. I only started recording after about 5 minutes. Listen to the last 1 minute of this - their reaction when they found that I was wasting their time is priceless!
On a more serious note, just listen to what lengths they go to in order to steal your money. It is very easy for people to fall for their tricks. Listen and BEWARE!

I worked for HMRC and this is so hilarious ! 😂 buying money vouchers ! They would rarely contact you by phone, and never use the term restitution ! In most cases any underpayment would be reclaimed by altering your NI number for a specific time. Neither would they solely employ these smelly fools, they would be leaving themselves wide open for a racism claim.

I once kept them going for two hours while I did my shopping and they wanted me to go home and pay by online banking. On another occasion they used the gift voucher method and wanted me to drive to the shop. So I used KZfaq recordings of car sounds (door slamming, horn, engine) and pretended every now and then that there were traffic jams and diversions. In the meantime i got on with work. I don't know how long it was before he figured it out.

If you had never heard a scam before you should immediately be suspicious of this call as it is supposed to be in the UK but she uses American terms such as 'Grand theft' and 'courthouse'

You can tell Immediately that she knows nothing about English or Scottish law. In the UK there is no such thing as “Codes” or “Courthouses” or “Jail”, and we never call HMRC “the HMRC”, and nobody ever cancels your driving licence. You can run a person over and they still won’t cancel your licence LOL.

It's worth anyone listening to these just for the final minute. It is a shame though, doing these types of scams in the stereotypical accents people expect and spouting all this kind of crap just makes it harder for non scum call office workers to get anywhere.

Im so glad you guys are dealing with theys poeple, i had a automatic message from HMRC saying i was being investigated an di had to press 1 to speak to a agent about my investigation, so i hung up and rung HMRC, and they said thatvif theyvneed to get hold of anyone they will send a letter not ring theybwill never ring some one so who ever rings you claiming to b HMRC will b a scam, i knew it was a scam but i had to have a peace of mind by ring HMRC myself

Best bit was they called me up once, I worked for HMRC for a few years so I kept asking them what the charges were, I started asking for the actual laws they were citing, I then decided to point out how what they were saying was complete crap and how their citations don't exist *click* haha

I had no intention to go beyond strictly saying "delete my number and stop scamming people". Shame on her and all those who are part of scamming innocent people.

I had quite a short conversation with a gentleman purporting to be from HMRC. He told me his name was Michael Collins. When I said to him that that was a wonderful old Irish name and asked him what part of the Emerald Isle he hailed from, he put the phone down for some reason.

Since when HMRC's sorts out tax affairs over the phone. Underpaid tax case you would first receive your annual tax revision at the end of a tax year summarising what you have earned , paid and the difference taking into account your tax code for the passed tax year.

I once had a scammer asked her where she was calling from , she claimed she was calling from Glasgow, Scotland, I couldn't resist replying oh you must know Yeovil , just outside Glasgow, ?? , her reaction was och eye I drive through it on my way to work , was funny as fk the foul language she came out with after I said that's one hell of a long commute to get to work and back home ain't it , yeovil is in somerset about 600 miles away from Glasgow

Once they tell you how much you owe, you should immediately add a zero on to it and claim you have that much ready cash available so paying it is a breeze. Then they get annoyed they didn't ask for more!

Have had several calls like this threatening me with immediate arrest, I asked if the arresting officers preferred tea or coffee when they arrived at my house, scammers hung up! Have also had calls from, "The English Citizens Advice Beureu", offering to help with my debt, lost the plot at this point and called her a thief, was called a Mother ------! in return, charming!!!!!!!

Very good video, In 14.17 min the scam artist says "sala" (साल) meaning fucker. They have finally shot themselves in the foot for their unprofessionalism.
