No... bad idea. You can get hurt badly by having a spotter "take the weight" either bail when you fail or use spotter arms. I've seen too much fuckery with using side spotters and using a back spotter puts both of you in some serious danger.
@TheBloodyNights4 ай бұрын
Deff just use the spotter racks. They are designed to catch the weight if you fail. Most people I see set them so low that they become useless, or even worse take them off. I adjust them every time so they are just below my squat depth. If I fail the bar lands on them as I go and not on me, or a person behind me thinking they can help me with a 500lb bar on my back. That being said if you don't have spotter arms, two people on both sides of the ends of the bars can actually help if you start to fail, also usually someone is also behind like the second guy in this video. They do this Power lifting Competitions a lot. Someone behind the squatter only could lead to the squatter getting hurt as they might have trouble bailing, or the person trying to guide them up if the bar falls back onto them.

What benefit could 1 rep squat or deadlift even do?
@WyattT1855 ай бұрын
Stroke your ego in a wholesome and polite manner😃
@calvinregan57535 ай бұрын
It's a test of your one-rep max - an all out lift. To your point, one rep doesn't provide much benefit to strength or muscle gains, but that isn't the point of a one-rep max, it is intended to test if your strength had improved.

Yes and I think that's good. We were born without shoes. I think too many ppl really on heavily padded shoes too much. Get yourself some barefoot shoes and watch your feet spread back to normal after years of being scrunched together.

I’d have a similar reaction and then be like damn dude that was amazing but I thought for sure I was gonna see you get squished thru the floor and into China. Some people just hate on others no matter what. No matter what these girls did this person would have had some negative comment I’d bet.

@@joketsu100its not cuz their women, but i rewatched it and it looks better. Initially its just the idea of people laughing and seemingly nonverbally judging others for doing things they themselves wouldn’t be able to do really irks me. If i was any of those girls i wouldn’t be laughing, or putting on some of those faces those girls displayed. I’d watch with a concerned look or a shocked expression with a slight smirk then celebrate their feat with them but i’m not gonna look at them like they are an idiot and smirk at them like i know they are gonna fail. That was initial judgement anyway :/ i’ve had people do those condescending smirks at me when i perform feats they never seen before too

@@HeatherHoltnoooo not a hater 😆 read my comment to joketsu. I wouldnt hate no matter what they do. It really just irks me when people put on those faces like these girls displayed. It feels like an expression like they are looking at you like your some idiot they cant stop and they are just waiting for you to fail meanwhile they wouldnt even display the bravery to even try to do something like that and if they did they wouldn’t have those faces on. If they didnt have those expressions; wouldnt see me hating. But i rewatched and it looks better admittedly 😅

Ed Coan teaches to practice takeing 2 steps to get set so your walk out can expend the least amount of energy. You can burn alot of energy wiggleing your feet into place with a heavy load so getting set with the least energy spent is idel.
@austinpatrick268216 күн бұрын
That rack height had me nervous. Im no trainer, just a guy that lifts, but I like to set my rack a little on the short side so its easier to rerack when im exhausted from the lift. Sure, I have to lift it a few inches just to stand up, but I'd rather lift an extra 1/8 rep every time than fail once from missing the rack.
@geo38023 ай бұрын
Technique aside, the most serious issue is it did not seem he had anyone spotting. Now, it was a crap load of weight.
