I actually met Scarlett in the ladies room at Roy Thomson Hall during the screening of The Girl With the Pearl Earring at TIFF . She was so nice and polite and took the time to chat briefly. Not stuck-up or arrogant at all. She's also as pretty in person as she is on camera.

Ok, I wouldn't use the word *incredible* . Viola Davis is an incredible actress, Anette Bening is, Cate Blanchett, Francis McDormand and Jodie Foster are. But Johansson deserves more credit for her acting when she has recieved in course of the past two decades.

It's because she was typecasted. Before she made movies for Marvel, most of her roles are hyper sexualized. Lost in Translation was probably her best film, acting wise, before all those Marvel films.

Because even though she was typecast, there is a brilliance in many of her performances and it's kind of an eye opener to realise that most people, even industry people, couldn't take notice of that. She has made great films and her performances are always spot on so it's disappointing to notice she's been overlooked for so long.

unfortunately, she just hasn't been in great films. she usually is the attracting point to SO many films and has starred in more than 50 lead roles (in her 35 years of life). That's crazY. And she's not the world's highest paid actress for nothing. She's a great actress, whether people would admit it or not, she just never had the chance to really showcase it, until now. Yes, she was typecasted and even then she gave solid performances, but again: she just hasn't been in great films.

I get your point but it's not like she's all that old to begin with. She's still relatively young at 35 but she's been in the business for so long and has been acting since she was a child so people can overlook that she's still a young woman.

@@JR-ju3kj She's had a career of over 20 years though and been completely snubbed throughout. Gwenyth Paltrow can win for Shakespeare in Love, a God awful film with atrocious acting. Meanwhile, she's deserved a nod for a ridiculously long time. Lost in Translation, Her, Under the Skin, Don Jon etc. And that's not including the films she did as a kid and teenager like Manny and Lo, the Horse Whisperer and Ghost World which she got rave reviews for and which today would stack up awards easily. Ghost World for instance is a cult classic. Heck, straight after saying he hated Marvel films, Martin Scorsese said in another interview that he loves Scarlett Johansson's acting and said something like she turns every performance she does into an art form. He clearly didn't give that praise based on her success in Marvel blockbusters.

Omg Scarlett Bohemian Rhapsody is my favourite queen and song and my favourite film is beauty and the beast. I can’t tell u how many times a day I watched it when I was a little girl.
