Lomez is the founder of Passage Press, a publishing house intent on routing out the edges of the Overton Window. He was recently the target of a hit piece by an antifa sympathizer, published on The Guardian, wherein he was accused of capitalizing on "scary ideas." What are these ideas? Why do mainstream institutions want to steer discourse away from certain questions? And who is Lomez?? We explore these topics and more in this calmvo.

Enjoyable interview! I can see why Lomez is a good professor. Ah, imagine a world where the universities weren't ideologically captured and people like this were educating young minds... I hope we get there someday. I remember 2014 standing out to me as well. It was the first time I saw the term "white privelage" in media. I thought it was a terrible framing but it took me a few more years to wake up from my default-liberal worldview. Learning about the Evergreen story was actually a big part of my wake-up. Going to check out The Forest Passage for sure. I'm not well versed in history but the critique of technological society resonates, very intriguing. (Thanks, prof!)

Just reading a bit of his story, from the description and is one more example of how many there are whom are not satisfied with the challenging of ideas or engaging in dialog... it is about destroying that person for the opinions to which they do not agree. This an EXTREMELY destructive path for a society to take and we have seen such paths taken throughout history and it does not end well. PS> 🏆The Kitty doing Elaine Benes "Little Kicks" dance 💃😸

Wow kicking off the Boyce of summer - GREAT VIDEO Hey could you interview Steve Sailer ? That dude is more based than a group-I hydroxide. Extra credit: David Cole: Bimbo-whisperer, zombie-movie expert, holocaust historian, kicked off twitter post-Musk for losing it on a Holocaust denier. If you interview either of these two I will renounce my condemnation of marmalade cats. If you interview both I will adopt a marmalade.

What an interesting person, exactly the type I love having conversations with. I, too, feel kind of homeless in a political sense, like Lomez said he'd had at one point, but the older I become the more I realise that on an intellectual level, the best conversations are to be had with people from the right. Maybe the reason for this is that, as he also said, right-wingers are used to their ideas being challenged and opposed rather than simply being more widely accepted from the start.

Identifying, promoting, and following "optimal pathways of living" isn't 'Right Wing'. It's just sensible. There is nothing more Liberal than yielding optimal outcomes through optimal behavior. Behaving liberal is just as hard, if not harder, than behaving Christian. At a minimum, they run adjacent to one another. 🐿

@NinjaKittyBonks
@NinjaKittyBonks Ай бұрын
@@BenjaminABoyce ... Parallel institutions, while they are great in the short term, they are not infinitely sustainable, for most things. In the end, they are a further division of society that will simply get worse and worse, as we end up with "Conservative only" / "Democrat only" restaurants and businesses. We absolutely must go that route to break the stranglehold currently held by liberal institutions, but they must eventually be integrated again. We all know those famous words of AL near Little Round Top and same is true today.

I agree with Ninja-min K-oyce, I think my former self meant to say "don't want zero MAINSTREAM institutions".
@HimmelsDaemon
@HimmelsDaemon Ай бұрын
@@NinjaKittyBonks The "parallel" thing strikes me in a similar manner to what you've explained where it is easily serves as "reactionary opposition" that affirmatively constructs that afforded division whilst subverting the perception of an intent for competition. Therefore open to even more simple corruption, or outright astroturfed. The "institutions" need to be reintegrated be that the restoration of principle, or what's left in the ashes after being left to burn out. It's that the issue is principle, not just control over the authority to dictate. It reminds me that I often bring up that people need to not/stop abandoning others. That whatever it means to "save" them to you, first you need to save them for themselves or their own view from being deceived to restore conversation (and principle) and then you can try to convince should you so choose or believe. Or said another way, false premises are repeated accepted and afforded authority over because opposing is enough rather than proper dissent for whatever reasoning. And that's just the getting started, to say nothing of the original issues with "institutions" etc. that have been ignored and extorted and so on.
@jarretta2656
@jarretta2656 Ай бұрын
@@NinjaKittyBonks granted. However, I think this idea is so obvious that everyone assumes it to be implied by "parallel institutions." I've never spoken to a RW-DR person who didn't want to explicitly replace liberal institutions with good, right wing ones.
