If you are looking for a great half-day off-road trail destination in Sedona, AZ for your Side by Side, OHV or Jeep you have put Schnebly Hill Road on your list. For this trip we rented two Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo SXS from Sedona Off-Road Center. But you can also rent jeeps in town, bring your own 4x4 or get a guided jeep tour from a company like Pink Jeep Tours in Sedona.

Getting to the Schnebly Hill Road trailhead is super easy because it basically starts right in downtown Sedona and there are plenty of side by side or jeep rental companies, as well as guided tours with a lifted jeep driver. All of these options are a great way to explore this epic Arizona OHV trail. Sedona is famous for its massive Red Rock formations and you get great views of them from the OHV trail.

Schnebly Hill Road OHV is a moderate difficulty trail, but mostly because of the size and sharpness of the rocks in the trail. There are no very technical maneuvers and at the end of the day you will see all sorts of vehicles on this trail from Adventure motorcycles, to Subaru Outbacks, Tesla model X's (like we see in this video), dirt bikes, RZR's, Jeeps and trucks. Some people even mountain bike it or hike it. It's all about how fast you want to go. The Can-Am Maverick is definitely one of the faster ways to do Schnebly Hill, so plan on a roughly 2 hour trip time. At that time you can make your way over to the other side of Sedona to try out the Outlaw trail or other great OHV trails.
Source ADV highly recommends that you download the USFS Vistors App for your phone. It has most the routes on the app, works offline (as long as you have downloaded the map of the state you are in) and is totally free!
