How does the DRZ do on the AZ highways? I live around Cottonwood and want something that I can get out and explore but need to put down a good amount of miles of interstate to get out there. I am really looking for a lighter do it all bike that I can also bring in a toy hauler without adding too much weight, that is the only thing really holding me back from a DR650 lol.

Which slime product is that? I have some of the emergency flat tire sealant. It's got little chunks of stuff in it. I am thinking the regular slime for bikes will be better. Oh I see the blue label. After a little research, I think all the slime has little dark chunks in it

You've sold me on the Morimoto's. My 2011 Tundra's headlamps got pretty glazed. I've used a kit on them twice to make them clear again, but they honestly look pretty shit. My truck's also lifted like your's and I often get people flashing me because my old OEM reflector housings are dazzling oncoming driver's with the LED's in them. I really need better night time lighting, living in Canada with our long winters and short days. I'd also like to not be a dick and blind oncoming drivers. These Morimoto's seem like a worthwhile investment. Cheers! 🍻

Mine are still so solid! They are a great product and really modernize the front of the truck. I think if I was being smarter I would probably would have had someone clear bra them right after I installed them to keep them super fresh for life. I'm having a hard time finding info on whether the freeride has a counterbalanced engine or not.
@SourceADV
@SourceADV 2 ай бұрын
It does not, the counterbalanced engine came to KTM on the 2017 KTM 250/300 XCW engines, this engine is based on the older architecture. Vibration is not crazy though.

Genuine question here but how often do you need to check the valves on these bikes? Everything i look into seems to be between the 15-30 hour mark. That's the only thing making me consider compromising and getting a crf300L but man how much id prefer to be riding something like this aha
@SourceADV
@SourceADV 2 ай бұрын
Check them once in the first 5-10 hours, if they are going to move they would have done so then. After that every 100 hours is fine but your brain will say otherwise LOL. If it gets hard to start that’s a good indicator to check them.

@SourceADV 3 ай бұрын
@jeffmm1474 ah got it, honestly the XC Gear Mako360 handlebar mount is a game changer for hand vibration, they have pegs that go through rubber too. How long are you staying at 70?
@jeffmm1474
@jeffmm1474 3 ай бұрын
@@SourceADV yep I have the 360s on my 300. I have vibration reducing bar mounts. It’s mainly the seat and pegs. Will try the rubber peg mounts. I’m usually not running 70 more than 5 mins. Would like to go farther but vibes stopping me from that. Will try a 45 rear to reduce the revs or a 15 front. I love the 500 for everything except 65+ mph. Dope bike perfect size weight power and capability. What kills it for me is the maintenance schedule.... Changing oil ever 500 miles and having to inspect valves ever 1000 miles does not work out for a long range adventure bike. Otherwise unicornnmnm
@SourceADV

In ADV riding, everyone is saying 30-40 hours for the 500 on the oil changes. You only need to check the valves on KTM 450/500s once, they don’t move after that. My 350 race bike doesn’t even move either, I only check them when I do top ends on that bike at 120 hours

It’s a noticeable difference for sure. We're you able to run the inline filter that's included with the smartcarb? I just installed one on my Freeride and the fuel line is too short to the petcock to fit the in line filter. Also, when I open the choke it interferes with the petcock valve. Same issue on yours?
