Sharpay should have realized that her actions would come with consequences. She should have known that Troy would do everything he can to convince Gabriella to come back including going after her. He literally drove to Stanford to from Albuquerque on the day of the show to pick up Gabriella.

I felt so much pain for Sharpay in this scene, and Troy and Gabriella just prance in there like nothing happened. This is a girl who has worked her entire life to be a musical actress. Just because it was "just a high school musical" to them, doesn't mean it wasn't important to her. What if she's a little stuck up? She was SABOTAGED two years, and when she finally gets the lead, she loses her chance again...Not to mention she handled every loss gracefully.

The 2nd movie she tried stealing troy from gabriella and make them breakup 3rd movie she sent gabriellas application to Stanford to make her have early admissions and the first movie she tried making it so troy and Gabriella would miss their callback by telling ms darbus it would be better to schedule all their events on the same day

@@breonabaughman7989 No, she didn't. She only told Troy that Gabriella was leaving and then he confronted her. The fact that she got accepted early and considered going (and not having told Troy) was already there. Edit: She only hoped that if Gabriella still doubted the decision that troy would convince her to go and she would get her part. Ultimately though, Gabriella would have left anyways as everyone else also told her to go and Sharpay would have still gotten that part.

How completely unfair is it that Troy messed up her chance to go to Juilliard and then he rejected Juilliard to be closer to Gabriella. He honestly could have drove the following day after the show, we didn't even get to see the prom because of him!! Then she prances in for the show anyway, entirely defeating the purpose of her leaving...they're so inconsiderate

Looking back, I have to admit I would have decked Troy after the show. I felt second-hand embarrassment for Sharpay in this scene when the movie first premiered! Seriously, I'm glad Kenny went out of his way to ensure damn well we saw what happened to Sharpay after high school! She deserved that kind of redemption.

Okay, let's forget about Troy and Gabriella for a second and how Sharpay lost her chance to go to Juilliard. Let's talk about this Jimmy guy. I read a few comments, where people would defend him, by saying that his singing was quite good and stuff. Well, his singing is not a problem here. The problem is that he didn't follow the choreography at all and was basically harassing Sharpay right from the start. If you re-watch Troy and Gabriella's version, you will definitely see that the choreography was completely different. And to be sure that their moves were choreographed, you can see how Ryan was repeating their dance moves, since he was a choreographer. Sharpay actually did quite a good job, despite being surprised and, let's be honest, upset and angry. She did her best in order to avoid Jimmy's advances through dancing and continued to sing the song up till the end. But the guy just couldn't get a hint. It annoys me, how people are defending him in the comment section by telling that it was actually sweet, how he hugged Sharpay etc. Like, come on, it's not romantic and it's not sweet. It's f ing creepy and scary. Sharpay was visibly uncomfortable with his actions, yet he cornered and groped her. She would have definitely finish this song properly, if Jimmy followed the choreography. Yes, she would probably be very upset through her facial expressions, but she would've finished it, just like on the rehearsals. I mean Sharpay did sing it until the end. She tried to be professional, but everyone, even her own brother, just laughed at it. And okay, maybe audience did think that it was part of the performance, but Ryan, of all people, knew exactly what was going on. And it doesn't matter how mad he was at Sharpay, she is his sister. And she was publicly harassed. It is not okay. Nothing that she did throughout these movies would make it okay. Sorry, if I made mistakes. English is not my first language

Hard agree with this. Some of these comments are just...major yikes. This scene is effectively Sharpay getting harassed by a creep and it is played off for laughs because Sharpay is the antagonist. Some of the things Sharpay does throughout the films are not okay, but from what I recall the films more try to say that her self-absorption is the core problem and frankly the notion "Sharpay was a bit of a jerk so she had this coming" is gross.

I felt pretty bad for Sharpay in this scene, and Troy and Gabriella went and just prance right up on stage like nothing happened. Sharpay was the victim and she got sabotaged again even though she started the sabotages first. So what if she’s a little stuck up? That doesn’t mean it wasn’t important to her. She got SABOTAGED for two years, and when she finally got the lead she lost her chance again…not to mention the audience was laughing at the performance hasn’t she suffered enough humiliation?

The part that I hate the most is that the audience was just laughing and cheering. Jimmie was groping and cornering her, and not doing any of the choreography. Even if the audience thought it was intentionally staged to be that way, the crew and Darbus knew better. Why on earth would they cheer when he was physically harassing her?

Honestly Sharpay is just a theater kid who respects and loves theater. She wants people to treat the theater with respect unlike Troy and Gabriella (who use it as a joke to show their "love" for each other) Troy and Gabriella turned the whole production into a musical about them rather than what the play was originally supposed to be. Yes you can say in the second movie she tried to steal Troy away and that makes her the "bad guy". But in all honesty she was providing Troy a good future to play basketball which he stupidly turned down. Troy never had to like Sharpey but he could have accepted the basketball offer, for his own future. Also red flag in Gabriella getting jealous first about this great offer for his future rather than being excited for him. Like Gabriella already should have known Troy only liked her. So.... Needless to say Troy and Gabriella steal the show once more in this scene and disrespect the name of theater.

As someone who did theatre in high school, what Troy and Gabriella did would have been unacceptable. When I did theatre, there was no excuse to even miss rehearsal, let alone miss a performance. I do rmr my director would make athletics who were in the play choose between sports or being in the play, there was no middle ground. If you were too sick to go to school, but it was still expect for us to not miss rehearsal. I cant imagine how my director would been if two of the lead actors miss a or show up late for performance when Juilliard scouts were there. There would be no way she will let them perform and would tell them to get out of her sights.

I was so mad at Troy at the end of this movie. He sabotaged Sharpay's chance of getting into her dream school, which she had been working to do for her WHOLE LIFE, just to be with Gabriella?? Bruh I- IT'S NOT LIKE HE WAS NEVER GONNA SEE HER AGAIN. Instead he decided it was a great idea to bail on everyone when there were college scouts in the audience and make Sharpay perform with a guy that doesn't take anything seriously (WHICH Troy knows because Jimmy was in the basketball team) TBH I'm so glad Sharpay had a movie for herself to show us that no matter how much Troyella sabotaged her she still worked her way to her dream

You know that Sharpay is the one who is bullied here. We got the jock and the smart girl who bullies the theater kid. I don't know if this is just me, but living in an Asian country, the smart kids mostly bullies the weird ones, and I was the weird kid that was bullied for 10 years just because I wasn't smart or athletic like them, but passionate with what weird thing I like. Nah cus this was literally borderline assault, why is he all up on her like that and also why do people expect Sharpay to handle everything with grace all the time when they jus sabotage everything for her all the time, and make her out to be the fool. She was really the Femme Fatale of disney. Deserved better queen.

Think about it for a second. She barely treated anybody with respect, and she seemed to only catch some sense when whatever she did was thrown back into her face. I recommend you re-watch the movies.
