These past few days I have been playing around with the timing on my ESC and the turbo function. I didn't seem able to get it to work under test conditions. I wanted to try a higher KV motor as most people seemed to be running the 6.5 turn. I tried the Hobbywing XERUN V10 6.5T Black G3. WOW! Stay tuned to find out how I handle it.

That is very true my friend. I was just editing the video for the first race today and I said just that. But that's what makes it so rewarding I think. This crash course in racing will 100% make me a better driver. Yep.

Ohh it was nice. Only adjusted the timing on ESC by 10% boost and it was so much better. So much poke. I need to figure out if Boost timing, can work with me. And also the delay on it. I think ATM I am feeling a bit old school and want to keep it stock. But that is not how these cars work my mate was telling me. He Said and I quote "A better set up car will always beat a better set up ESC"

Hi there Paul, a very nice upgrade in power, but as you say, it’s alright having that extra power, but being able to handle and apply it, so that you have those results on track, is going to prove to be another learning curve. You may initially take a slight step back in terms of track positions, while you learn the motor / car responses to that extra power from the motor. Keep up that great work though. Take care and best wishes 😊😁😉

Love that quote "Is it worth being stupidly fast but not being able to drive it ... well let's find out!" YES, let's find out! That said, like another comment said, TAME it first! Control yourself in the corners and the slow spots so that you can hit that speed on the straights! I'll probably be looking for that same motor NEXT year on the out door track. Now ... get out on the track and GO!

Ohh Nice. It will fly. I was looking at the 5.5 just out of interest and it seems popular in touring Cars. Today wasn't so bad. My positions were not the greatest but the new track law out feed off my weakness TBH of being able to go round corners. Just watching some on boards and it looks like I'm hitting the corner apex because I'm bad at driving. But That's what I was kind of aiming for tbh LOL without going wide. Just took it to the extreme. 😃

Yes! I'm looking forward to your next video as you start getting closer and closer to the fast race lines. I still think standing more in the centre of the stand will help you judge the lines easier on the far end. All in good time, all in good time! Oh, and would you be willing to share what your camera setup is for both in door and out door? I'm still toying with the idea of clearing this channel and setting it up for RC like you're doing (but strictly the racing and maybe practice bashing with cones for a track out back where I live). Have to clear that with the wife first though ;o)

@@fhuzpatch Yerhh N.p. In door and out door Camera I use is a Go-pro Hero 10 Black. I went for the 10 for better FPS and 5k footage. I shoot in 4k though for better FPS for Slow-mo should I need it. Editing the footage can be the problem. My PC is pretty high End and you need a bit of PC power to render and edit 4k. If You Know @Claires RC I built her PC and it is a bit lower end PC but she is able to work with it. The main problem is the PC being able to render the footage as you edit it and it not being sloppy. Always here if you need help. You can work round these issues in Many ways. Using your phone for example on a Cap mount could work. It all depends on your budget. I started off with a Cheap Amazon 4k camera. but the image quality compared to a Go-pro is worlds apart. A Go-pro 7 would be great as I had a few of them for a while. Since I upload in 4k the Go-pro 10 works great for me.

Thank you for being my inspiration, and mentor of sorts. I just tossed the idea with my wife and she is fully supportive, with the caveat to never have her or objects inside our house unRC related off the camera LOL. Now I have MORE things to learn: setting up a KZfaq channel properly, learning some video edit tools (suggestions welcome), getting my first RC actually running, then (like you) sharing my experience from a fully fresh perspective to share for anyone interested as I relearn, and (hopefully) as my son learns with me and eventually out performs me. I was a bit of a computer gaming nerd, so have decent PC's / laptops (I think). Does the gopro hero 10 come with decent editing tools? Better still, would it be possible for you to make a short video of your equipment on this channel? I've seen a couple of the other RC channels I watch do something like that, but the one I really follow uses really high end equipment (since he's also a professional photographer outside the hobby). Sorry I'm being such a nuisance, I'm just a very curious guy, and fairly open when asked to share myself (which my wife sometimes hates me doing).

@@fhuzpatch Hey it's cool man. My PC is a bit overkill. I have 64GB Ram, Editing uses that but no where near 64. I know people who tried editing on 16, but it wasn't very good. I have a 3090 GPU which is overkill, you could maybe do it on a 1080 or 1080TI even better. Google them names, Nvidia. Go-pro editing software I don't know, I never used it. With Resolve you can render with your CPU or GPU but IMO the better GPU is where you wanna be. Like I say I have 4 core CPU and my 3090 renders better than it obviously A secound hand decent GPU could be an option. Give it a try with what you have. You maybe surprised. Davinci Resolve is what I use. The paid version, but the free version is brilliant. I don't know how to use Adobe Premier so I started Fresh with Resolve. I don't think Resolve edits 4k in the free version I could be wrong. I used the free version till I got to know it, it's a good learning curve and you can look up things on KZfaq to help you along. Plenty of stuff. The Go-pro 10 is the best option IMO. You can get Original spare batteries cheap'ish. I would suggest only use Go-pro batteries. Always here to lend a hand if I can. Keep me posted.

Cheers Pal. Today was a very twisty track. Short straight. But the new motor just seemed to get me places quicker. Maybe a bit too quick considering my skill level. Still left the day feeling good though. Just need to iron out the silly mistakes which will come with comfort and confidence the more I race. Happy days through and through. Thanks for the support.
