Im going to use this method of mounting the engine since it’s so simple but effective

Lotta guys use 3 inch muffler clamps. No mods needed, put em around frame & stick em up thru the engine holes. ( stick a slice of opened up bike tire tube under the clamps to kill vibration)

I applaud your effort and willingness to tackle a project like this. I would highly recommend you acquire a mounting plate. mock it up , measure and mark it exactly where you need it for perfect chain alignment. Then take it to a welding shop and have the plate welded in. The engine will want to vibrate loose with your current system. If you go with the current system at least get some cylinderical spacers to use over bolts to try and tighten down engine, as it is you will keep having to tighten down and the straps will bend. You must achieve perfect chain alignment or you'll end up frustrated, because your chain will always fall off, make noise and wear out and pop master links.
