Good job young man. In today’s world where most kids your age are inside the house gaming. You’re making it happen with wrenches and learning. The lessons you learn today, will last you a lifetime and help you fix your own stuff without having to pay someone to do everything for you. You didn’t need to cut the end off the throttle cable. Just needed to use a cut off wheel and cut a slit in the bracket, slide the cable in and the barrel at the end locks up to the bracket. No brass stops needed. Definitely need to change the gearing. Simple sprocket change should do it. Also might want to incorporate a chain tensioner gear on the swing arm area of the frame. This will carry the chain and keep it off the frame.

With those type of engines I use a 2 stroke clutch cable as a throttle cable. They don't have a little ball at the end that needs to be cut off. So you don't have to deal with The Frayed Ends.

Good job. Motorizing a bicycle is an up hill climb all the way. Lots of grinding and twisting, but it can be done. Built 11 choppers with the 80cc kit. It got easier after each build. Mmmm... you can install foot rests on the forks. Good luck

Your Clutch is placed backwards you would need to kick that engine out more so you can flip that clutch the right way also think about upgrading the clutch spring so you can pick up that engagement also if you stick with that centrifugal clutch then I would up the rear sprocket/ final drive sprocket start around 50-60 tooth ,or you could just upgrade and go to a torque Converter like most of our builds. Other than that, good job, you have done excellent. your mind has good problem solving skills.
@jamesfulerten84943 жыл бұрын
What you need is a Torque Converter kit. You bolt up a common shaft system with the old friction clutch then replace the friction clutch with the torque converter system and it will ride like a high speed snowmobile. I had one and it really go's a lot faster than a friction clutch does. It will also allow you off road performance and dirt riding is unbelievable just don't get dirt in the back pulley or you have to replace the sliders.
@JLUX1003 жыл бұрын
That's false clutch is actually capable of much higher rpms and top speed. Torq converter is only good for low end power and if you want to do wheelies. Not good for speed
@TheDustyShredder2 жыл бұрын
A friction clutch, in fact, does need more gear reduction than he's got, but it is capable of much higher speeds. I tried a torque converter on my build, and it didn't go faster than 30mph. My friction clutch gets me 40mph or more.

There's a chemical treatment that i prep bare metal surfaces with when I work on car panels. It's called metal dioxidizer, once applied to a bare metal surface, it makes it turn blue in colour hence protecting from exposure to moisture and the elements. New replacement and rust repair panels for cars also come from the manufacturer with this treatment applied to the surfaces... I swear by it as I apply the deoxidizer even before the primer as a second layer of protection... try it.

Did you use interior clear coat, or did you clear over the surface rust before it was visible to the eye. Use a small "ell" bracket with a twist in it for orientation of cable to where you need it. The bicycle shop sells the little cable end that crimps on end of cable, I bought 25 of them for $4 dollars You need a chain tensioner of some sort, I've seen numerous styles for the chopper. Try the exhaust adapter and the 2 stroke pipe you can get at gasbike.com. Also you seem to need gov. bypass or delete. Your clutch is fine. I am impressed you got it going and it runs, well done, just work out the bugs and you'll have a fun bike.

beau brummel I wire brushed frame clean no rust visible then whipped it with alcohol, then applied clear coat.. might need to do it again and buy a better clear coat.. I just ordered a chain tensioner need to figure out how and where to mount. I’m thinking the governor definitely needs to be removed bike wanted to move but takes a little to get it rolling. I think with right chain adjustments, gov. Removal and exhaust it should be good. Thanks for watching !
