Mobile games should have took this path instead of becoming casino

The mobile re4 port is very good for being a mobile game from it's time. The gameplay is very similar, there are collectible treasures and there is mercenaries, but it is completely different as it has you play more than the standard set of missions as only leon (and the rewards system can be heavily abused to get ptas and weapons such as the infinite rocket launcher). The locations are mostly the same, with visual quality of course being a bit not great, and there is some audio compression. The chapters are broken into missions, all being accessed from a menu, and cutscenes are screenshots of the retail versions cutscenes but with sound effects added in and text boxes describing what is going on, and the escape from the island is shown as a text box cutscene shortly after killing Sadler. That's all I remember after years of not playing, but I hope I was of some help

Re4 mobile wasn't too bad. It was level based but those levels were simplified versions of the real game. Details were still pretty good for the hardware it was on. RE-D was mostly an indoor game. Now that I'm thinking about it, it kinda has a "scene" reminiscent of RE1.5. don't quote me, I'll have to charge up my iPod and I'll come back. I'm thinking visually not story wise. Ok so chapter 3 & 4 have you finding people holding off in a VIP room. There's an ally that comes in injured and Leon has to go find him some stuff. yeeeaaaaaaaasssorry

I cannot believe I played most of these. Aside from the three full 3D over-the-shoulder ones and the Japan-only releases, I've experienced each thoroughly. Holy crap that was a nostalgia stroke. The only one you missed is that there was another first-person one in the style of Degeneration, just an alternate version for The Missions this time around.

I think I still have an old iPhone with the RE4 Mobile game installed. It was, by all intents and purposes, a watered down version of RE4. The big scenarios were there but there was quite a bit of cut content. There were also no cutscenes and the story was told to you via walls of text with a pixelated jpg of the original version of the game. Oh man, Zombie Buster... That takes me WAY back. That game was NOT made for touch screens, I used to play it on an old Nokia phone, the one that slides up, and it was definitely meant to be played with the numpad instead. It also has a Mr. X boss fight along with the Yawn one.

I never got to play these games.😭 Mobile games like this would've been a good friend to me. I didn't even have a proper cell phone until 2011, and I graduated High School 2008.

Yep..!!! I played R.E 4 & degeneration on iPhone..!! It wasn’t bad as a mobile game but it got some actions that wished to be mad for good new consoles with more details like voiced conversation and etc .. etc I’m talking about the one that play at the airport mission

I remember a couple of years back when the iphone 4/4s was still in its prime, but i remember scrolling the app store and seeing RE 4 and RE Degeneration and till this day i seriously regret not making the purchase on either of those titles especially being on a phone

I remember playing RE4 in my friend's phone at school, I believe it was the first iPhone. Good times.

i actually managed to try the re4 on android once. and it was quite enjoyable.

I used to play re4 mobile and yes it contained most scenarios, however you don’t need to play the scenarios in any specific order if I can remember. The game had the same combat type, nearly the same camera, the the graphics and lack of cutscenes and story where the only downgrades and for a mobile app it was great!

I remember there being a mobile game based on the original RE2 for flip phones back in the day where you played as Leon and Claire simultaneously

I used to stay up until 7am then play Mercenaries VS with my bro. Online was buggy, we played via Bluetooth and it was pretty fun. It was weird and low quality, Capcom promised it would get new features but it was never updated. You can use barrels to explode monsters, PvP or CoOp modes were available with each character having their own features. Stages had a strong enemy like Dr Salvador.

Mercenaries was fun as was Degeneration...since I jailbroke my iphone4 way back I got them for free. Definitely inferior to the consoles version of course.

Never thought I'd see Wesker in priest robes but here I am. Also, mobile RE4 was RE4 broken into selectable stages, no puzzles, and little QTEs.

The iOS version of Degeneration was fantastic. It was a big upgrade from the other mobile versions. I wish it was still playable

As someone who played the Mercenaries VS. RE4 mobile, and Resident Evil: Degeneration IOS... They all have a near identical gameplay to one another, and appears to reuse the same engine as well!

There's one "mobile-type" game not on this list: the Resident Evil 2 Handheld Tiger Electronics game by 99X Games. I actually got that years ago when it came out. It was hard but I persevered and finally beat it. Sadly I misplaced it somewhere so I can't cover it myself.

I have RE4 and degeneration on iPod lol. I loved them for being RE on my ipod, only downsize for both is the lag and graphics... Controls were whatever since its for touchscreen

Oh Resident Evil Merc VS, I remember that being released around the same time as RE Merc 3d on nintendo 3ds, Capcom tricked people into thinking they were the same game, when the 3ds actually used Resident Evil 5 character models and stages and yes the director behind it even said they ported an RE5 demo to the 3ds, he actually said he could have ported the whole game cause 3ds was capable of it. Basically the 3ds was an HD handheld using old ancient standard tv screens with 3d. Great times on Merc 3d, online mode was amazing. I remember people hating the phone game.

I did playthrough the whole RE4 mobile campaign and it wasn't the full game. Just some missions that recreate the game. Not all the locations have a counterpart, but you'll find quite a few iconic parts of the game being represented. It was a really interesting port. Also it had an upgrade system and some extra missions. And btw I liked Resident Evil The Missions. I remember it being infuriating at times, but not enough to make me stop playing.

yes you can play these. Download the J2ME files from lets say Mobile9. Play on an old phone, these play best on the Nokia N-Gage or play on KEmulator or another JAVA emulator.

Resident Evil Genesis was my favorite zombie game it has a lot of puzzles to solve also is not just about killing zombies or running away from them, you really had to use your brains to figure out how to kill some of the zombified creatures that would come out.

I had this last game you showed but I had the original version and its graphics were a lot more 16-bit. It was an awesome game and was mad that when I had got a new phone I couldn't bring the game with me....

Now I remember re uprising. Pretty good for cellphone game.

I used to play Confidential Reports on my phone in high school, and honestly it was quite enjoyable and not terribly written, pretty good for what it was.

When you say mobile games you should include some of the phones it ran on. The first few looked like the games i would get on my flip phone back when the iPhone was completely brand new to the public and only the upper class had them.

I played degeneration, 4 and mercenaries vs on my old iPhone 4 and loved playing them. 4 only puts you in the heavy action areas but you can even fight Salazar and all the other bosses/points of heavy attack - Luis in your house survival (which you get to play solo) I prefered degeneration as it had areas that connected and you could back track through them. It felt like a resident evil 4 but set in re2 and it helped me fantasize a remake for re2 in re4s style

Here is a bit of an obscure one, I remember playing a Resident Evil Code Veronica X pc website game back in the day it was in the style of a fixed point FPS. Does anyone else remember this? Going against the bandersnatches and zombies? You could play as Chris Claire and Steve if i remember right. The Gold Lugers were always my fave, cant find anything online about it now though, no screenshots or anything.....

RE4 mobile was amazing only a little content was missing other than that you got the full RE4 experience for free also the gameplay was very smooth

i played Degeneration and 4 on my old Ipod. I would suggest getting one on Ebay and looking the games up on the store they should still be there. RE4 was reallly good actually on there theres even a blue lazer that freezes enemies when you aim it at them its a nice game it takes you to the end of the game including boss fights like the two giants and krauzer and so on. It skips some parts but it gets down alot of sections i think theres like 24 levels or something its a chunky game for a mobile. As for Degeneration I played third person on the Ipod so I would look there if you wanna play the third person over the shoulder camera angle version it was a fun game.

I totally forgot about all the iOS games lol. Played them all and enjoyed them. RE4 was broken into parts, I don’t recall but had to wait to purchase the next part. I think it stopped around the Bella Sisters. I don’t remember if you ever get to the castle or not. I could be mistaken.

I did played the RE Degeneration N-gage 2.0 back in my high school days on a hacked Nokia E63. But the things is, I had to "hack" my phone before I could freely do things with it like running the N-gage 2.0 on it to play RE Degeneration N-gage. The extra millage that I did, but paid off. What can I say about the game? Well, it's similar to RE4 3D mobile for android back in the days but also like the real RE4 cramp into N-gage. It plays close like RE4 in gameplay: in third person over the shoulder, there's inventory management, and also a merchant exist in the game but i think he's an arms dealer wearing swat uniform, weapons upgrade, etc. The story events is a recreation of the movie where you explore the airport enviroment deeper for survivors and exterminate zombies, bow. The performance is not that good, but works well. Graphics are not great and looks like a PS1, N64, Dreamcast, Saturn enhance, but you can let it slide because it made long ago and it's not bad. That's as far as i can recall it. I lost my hacked nokia phone... Probably stolen when I took it to school. And for the two versions: the FPS and Missions 3D reskins. The FPS version is a meh, while the Missions 3D reskin version is alright despite it pretty much a reskin of RE3 Missions mobile. I even can say it's far more better than the FPS version.

The crow level on Zombie Buster reminds me of in Jak and Daxter where you have to catch those fucking fish for the fisherman, for some reason

The resident evil uprising from game loft in the thumbnail gave me nostalgia on my Nokia phone before, and if I remembered correctly the price before was around a dollar to two.

I have the 3D engine of Degeneration on my iPod Touch 4th Gen. It was pretty decent. Nothing spectacular, but for a mobile game at the time, it was pretty fricken impressive.
