Speed (1994) | The Blockbuster Nobody Believed In. Speed is one of my favorite action movies of all time. Let's take a look at why nobody believed in this blockbuster while it was getting made. Sit back, relax, take a pop quiz hot shot, and let's find out how Speed was made.

I think my first R-rated movie was Lethal Weapon 2. I was seven 😂. I was a little older when Speed came out and got to watch it as soon as it came out on VHS. It was amazing. Keanu Reeves was such a badass and I fell in love with Sandra Bullock. Watched it at least a couple hundred times in the 90s, but sadly I haven't watched it since. Time to snatch it up and get some popcorn.

Man. Scotty! you love all my favorite movies? I saw speed in the movie theater with my grandmother, whom I was living with while in college. What I remember about being in the theater with her was throughout the movie, her foot never stopped tapping the floor. We were on the edge of our seats. To this day Speed remains in my collection and I watch it at least once a year. By the way, you should watch Jeff Daniels performance in “terms of endearment”. That was the first movie I ever saw him in.

My first R movie was The Last of the Mohicans. That is, the first one on purpose, in a theater. First R Rated film was A Bridge Too Far which in my home country was a 15 and I wasn't 15 yet - I saw it on TV. Two more interesting facts about Speed 2 Cruise Control. The final sequence where the ship crashes into the town cost more than the entire first film and second before Gravity came out, Sandra's highest rated film on Rotten Tomatoes was Speed. The lowest rated was the sequel

I'm not sure what age region R-rated is compared to the one's we have in UK. Speed was rated a 15 in uk, there's U (all kids films) PG which can be a mixture of both and anyone can watch it with an adult then 12, 15 & 18 all of which you can't watch if you're younger than those ages unless you manage to pass as that but I don’t think I ever tried to see a film at the cinema that I wasn't old enough to watch so my first 15 was Ali (2001) which funnily enough JoeMorton from Speed was in.

Great stuff Scotty..... ...l can not wait for technology that is so so good.... that they computer generate a scene (storyboarded but not made because it was too expensive). It involves a helicopter lowering a cop on a rope, to the roof of the bus, but then has to immediately pull up rapidly, because of a nearing overhead crossbridge. The cop on the narrowly avoids death from the cross bridge, but spectacularly crashes thru a 'Windscreens O'Brien' Truck!!!!!!! Wow!!! What a scene that would be!!!!!
