What do you think of the Will Howard Ohio State fit? What transfer should I cover next?

He's an upgrade from Kyle McCord and can provide some veteran leadership in the QB room

Will Howard is better than Kyle McCord and that’s all OSU really needs.

He’s already accomplished everything we could have ever expected at K-state and has nothing left to prove. We have the highest recruit in school history that sat behind him for a year and we don’t want him to transfer. ( no sense keeping Will for a year and gambling 2-3 years of Avery) Will put up monster stats at K-state and he’ll have better weapons at Ohio st

I think Howard has the skills that Ohio State needs for a successful one-year, gap-plugging QB. He'll be surrounded by a huge upgrade in offensive weapons, and with his running capability in a Chip Kelly offensive scheme, they will be a terror for opposing defenses. He will also have great support from a dominating Buckeye defense. Howard's big game experience, maturity, and leadership skills will be vital in the playoffs. Overall, he may be the perfect fit for this season. This is an amazing opportunity for Howard to step up to his full potential and launch an NFL career. It should be fun to watch......

If you watched any OSU games you would see McCord coukd not process the field an couldn't get through reads. He locked in on Harrison an just threw ball. All yr guys where running wide open down the field. Howard is smart an can get through reads. Howard can also climb in the pocket to give WRs a little more time to get open. McCord would just keep dropping back right into a sack instead of climbing pocket!! Howard is a massive upgrade as long as he can learn offense!!

I think what he brings in the run game is EXACTLY what we need!!! Plus he's a great bridge QB before either Air Noland or Julian Sayin. I'm pumped for next year!!!

The dude literally won a B12 title with 2 an 3* players. He is going to ball out at OSU just getting Egbuka, Tate, Innis, Smith, Graham, Henderson, Judkins, Thurman the ball!! That Seven 5* guys who All but 3 played at least One yr already! With Everybody but One starter coming back on D its gonna be best in Nation.

Will will win! He should have more weapons at OSU. While he's not going to fake anyone out of their jock, he does have good straight line speed. He's also big, 6'5" and 240. He can take a hit and isn't easy for corners and safeties to bring down. One more benefit, Will is a team player, he'll be a great mentor for the younger QB's. Good Luck Will! EMAW

Howard was picked up before Saban's retirement. Now the QB room has 5-stars Air Noland and Sayin, Howard is not above competition. With his job on the line, Ryan Day cannot play favorites and use seniority like he did with Kyle McCord.

Thought at first you were talking about 5 star and #1 overall QB from 2024 class Julian Sayin. He transferred from Alabama to OSU today.

He has the same arm as McCord but he can expand plays and run. This is a great place for Howard.

I read an article from back in December after McCord left that inferred that Day likes his quarterbacks to be leaders and be more verbal and exuberant. I think the OSU fans are looking for a dual threat quarterback like Justin Fields or JT Barret. As great as CJ Stroud was, he was decidedly a passing QB who rarely ran. I sense the OSU fans would be happy seeing a quarterback dart off for 5, 10, 15 yards in view of getting the tough yards to keep the ball moving. Will Howard might be a one-year stopgap to fill those roles related to bringing toughness and team leadership to match the physical top teams like Michigan and Georgia.

As a K-State fan, I wish the best for Will.

McCord was a five star, but nothing about him wows you. He would've fit in with the Tressell era.

As an OSU fan I like it. I don’t expect him to be Justin Fields or CJ Stroud but I believe he’ll be an upgrade. He’s a more dynamic player overall. McCord is good but has nothing dynamic about his game or personality. With way better weapons around him and better overall coaching he’ll take a step forward and I think will have a great season next year which buys a year to get the next guy ready to go

Will Howard has shown flashes of greatness but flatlines at times. Kinda like Sean Clifford or Drew Allar.

With all of the pieces surrounding Will Howard, I believe he will do well. The offensive line needs to hold up for everyone to have success. With the addition of Seth McLaughlin, and with Donovan Jackson returning, those RB's should have their way this season. Unfortunately, with all of these moves, it's National Championship or bust for the Bucks.

K-State fan here! Howard is a really good quarterback. You don't watch him and get blown away but he makes plays happen and he is smart. If we didn't have an awesome young QB about to take his spot, he would have still been the starter this next year. It was smart of him to transfer away and he'll probably do great with all the Ohio State big recruits.

Howard and McCord are similar except Howard can run, howard inspires confidence when he speaks, seems to be a great leader, huge upgrade

Not sure why this is confusing to you. OSU did this because they needed some stability and senior presence at QB. Brown and Klienholtz looked awful. They’re looking for a guy to hold the fort down until the 2 5-stars coming in are ready to take over. I will bet that either Sayin or Noland will be the starter at some point.

K-State grad & fan here. Will Howard is a pretty darn good QB. He's got NFL size and pretty quick feet for a bigger QB. He will be a good QB in OSU's system. He has good poise in the pocket & can make big league throws. I don't really have much negative to say about him cause he's a nice young man too & will make a positive impression in the locker room. The only thing I can say is that Will can try and force some throws into tight coverages, which led to some key interceptions that resulted in some pick-sixes & unfortunate turnovers. These resulted in a couple of lost games for the Wildcats. I wish Will Howard well in his future endeavors.

Howard and McCord put up comparable stats last year. The difference is McCord was throwing to the best receiver in the country and Howard was throwing to receivers that wouldn't even be backups at Ohio State. He will be just fine this year.

If he plays for Ohio State the way he played against Texas, Ohio State is in for an incredible season.

With OSU & Bama QBs, you don’t know if it’s the QB or the talent that surrounds him. Will Howard was that difference maker at K-State. Great arm, mobility, toughness, it’s all there. Howard needs to have a year where he’s consistently good throughout the season. I think Howard is a legit NFL prospect.

A year of the best QB coaching in the country imho the reason Will Howard transfered to OSU.

McCord and Howard had comparable throwing numbers. However, Howard threw the ball better under pressure than McCord and was better at evading pressure. He was also much better at rushing the football. Keep in mind that Howard's best receiver was a fullback. True, he had comparable numbers, but he wasn't throwing to an elite group of players. Howard did not have Harrison Jr, Egbuka, Fleming, etc, on the edges and did not have Henderson out of the backfield to throw to. I'd say it will be an upgrade, but only time will tell.

He might not be an upgrade but he doesn't have to he great at OSU to win the Big Ten and reach a natty appearance. Oddly enough, Kyle could probably get us there too had he stuck around.

Have to agree with you about Will Howard. You have to have some questions about a player when the fan base isn't very upset when they transfer. He might be a little better than McCord but time will tell. McCord just lacked a competitive drive (very clear to Ohio State fans that watched him and listened to things he said in interviews) and is the one thing Howard definitely has over him and Howard is much more physical that McCord. The systems Kansas and Ohio State run are VERY different. Day's system heavily relies on the QB to make protection changes at the line and read the entire field among other differences to most college offenses. It is a very pro type of offense and more complex than most other college systems. Stroud said the system they run at Huston is simpler than what he ran at Ohio State under Day. I think Day just was looking for more "options" at QB until Air Nolan would be ready to start. But now with Ohio State getting former Bama 5* QB Julian Sayin it will be interesting to see how the QB room shakes out. Don't think Air would just sit behind Julian if he wins the starting job and vice-versa. Devin Brown I don't think will go anywhere regardless. He seems pretty committed to us but we'll see. Lincoln Kienholz is a "project" QB prospect and was in WAY over his head in the bowl game. One thing I've learned with the new portal rules is no one is truly committed anymore. Coaches need to keep recruiting players on the roster now.

Will Howard will at least throw the ball down field and give our WRs a chance. He’s mobile. McCord skips reads and literally pees down his leg when there’s any pressure which causes him to throw to the check down or throw the ball away. Howard will be able to avoid the rush extend plays, and throw the ball down field

McCord is gonna win maybe 4 games next season. The future looks great for the Buckeyes

OSU needed a veteran who has played more than a few snaps. Somebody that could run a little. I think Will fits the bill and should be a one and one player for the buckeyes. They will be fine, trust me

So I watch your videos and I am from the area that Will Howard is from. I usually like your videos but to say that this was the teams first championship you need to be more specific because they have won there league many times so just make sure you verify what championship ( district, state, conference) thank you

After watching most of Howard's 2023 season he is a clear upgrade over McCord. The most confusing part of this is that Howard can run, Day traditionally doesn't want his QBs to run. Hopefully Day will allow him to use his legs.

Remember that Devin Brown didn't burn his eligibility like Kyle McCord did. He's got three years. He isn't forced to move in 2024 if he is QB2, and whichever one is QB1, the other one can play the same running QB role, so getting the running QB knocked out does not require a midseason revamp of the offense

The real concern for me are his interceptions as he seems to throw them in bunches. I think Day can coach him out of that, but we will have to wait and see. Day likes competition, so I do not look at Howard as a guaranteed starter, but I do think if Brown doesn't get the nod, he'll transfer out. He is the prototypical NFL style QB, which is what Day likes. The other, and maybe biggest benefit, is that he has already had the stuffing knocked out of him, so we shouldn't have to go through two or three games of a nervous QB. Good luck to him, I hope he does well.

During the texas game Will was playing bad. I was thinking he can't come back to kstate next year and this isn't good enough to be a draft pick. Then he caught fire in that game and all he needs is one more year and I think in a different system.

The quarterback situation wasn’t really a disaster in the cotton bowl. Changing the offensive line for no particular reason was the disaster.

Devin Brown is majorly injury prone. Even then he is a major question mark as he hasnt played much. They didnt have confidence in him. Why is it confusing? You said Howard will be good. He will definitely be better than Brown.

Honestly, Lincoln and Devin had their chance in the bowl game. We saw what happened. Seeing what's coming in, I would predict Lincoln go back to Washington & Devin go to Arizona or ASU. Will Howard will be the next Josh Allen; especially with the talent the Buckeyes are bring in & coming back is amazing. The buckeyes 1st 5 games should be blowouts and need to play all 3 qbs. Coach Day better not do what he did with Quinn Ewers. He needs to take Julian and Air on road trips, develop them. play both to compete for 2025.

Watch 4:52 ... If you think kyle mccord could ever in his life do that, you're a silly goose. Throwing wise Will Howard and McCord are virtually the same but Howard has much more experience. All we need Howard to do is make the throws Kyle made and when we need to move the chains and everything else breaks down do what he did at 4:52 and we'll be golden. If everything goes horribly wrong, well either Noland or Sayin is gonna grow up quickly. Stroud and JT Barrett both started as true freshman. Other guys like troy smith, pryor, took the starting job a few games in. We'll be fine. Clearly though brown nor lincoln are it. Ohio State had a chance to recruit JJ McCarthy but chose mediocre McCord. Maybe because Harbaugh was a quarterback he has a better eye for QB evaluation and potential.

Will Howard isnt the biggest splash in the portal but if you watched the Buckeyes, all they needed was a competent QB that can stretch plays and run when needed. McCord was neither, he was a good QB with no ability to go through his reads and didnt wanna run or move in the pocket to stretch plays. Hope McCord is successful at Syracuse but i doubt it and i really really really hope Howard is the confident presence to get the Bucks over the top.

I think he is a pretty big upgrade over Mccord. I watched every snap of every Osu game, Mccord couldnt get past his first option and was essentially a statue in the backfield. While he did have some decent games he was usually bad in the first half and picked it up in the second half, he admitted that himself. I think with the backfield they will have, his ability to run and scramble and the talent of the wideouts at Osu he should have everything he needs to have a great year. We know he is a 1 year rental but facts are if Day doesn't beat M this year he will more than likely be let go. Alot of people want him gone already but this is his first headcoaching gig. Hell Jim Harbough went his first 5 years not beating Osu even with his experience as a head man probably 6 if they played the covid year so I think he needs time to figure it out.

This video makes zero sense. Will Howard is easily an upgrade over McCord. It wasn't just McCords play that drew hire from the fan base. It was his "dont give a damn" attitude. If this transfer confuses you then you simply dont understand football and what was holding one of the most talented teams in CFB back.
